Posting this a day early as family commitments will keep me tied up for a while. Our Patriot Turners- Not sure how I missed this post from @Gerald but hope he can forgive me for the oversight. Gerald is still using up some of that pecan wood he got a couple of years ago- In this post he explains a little about his plans for the piece- @forty_caliber was commissioned to turn a bowl from a specific species. He got a good start on it and gave us a glimpse- Forty gave us an insight into how it turned, in this post- @bradleyheathhays posed a question to our forum- actually several question. He is looking for information on various chucks, a coring system, sanding supplies and wood storage. Our members offered several ideas/suggestions. She has a couple of kits More information here- https://nilesbottlestoppers.com/product/unique-blank-kit/# Everything Else- Rick Turns list of YouTube woodturning videos from last week- Been asked to turn some bowls from a walnut tree that had to be taken down. The tree had special meaning to the owners. The pieces supplied had been left outside and were splitting pretty bad but I was able to get some small blanks. Two bowls are rough turned and soaking in soap/water. The third is hopefully destined to become a natural edge bowl. Walnut doesn't hold on to its bark really well and the bark is quite thick. I was hoping this could go from start to finish but that's not going to happen. Shaped the outside and applied CA the cambium area around the piece Hoping to keep the bark in place, I used my Dremel tool and created a circular opening through the bark, into the sap wood. Then loaded the "moat" with CA to soak into the wood. I'll keep this in a plastic bag until I get back to it. It may just be a miserable failure. Time will tell. Safe turning and stay well

Today Easy Wood Tools announced a new set of Mini Easy Hollowing Tools to the world. We are very proud of these tools and I am sure they will be a hit! The thing we don't really advertise and you guys here at TPW should know is that @Steve Krumanaker and @lew were a critical part of our team in developing these tools. They both tested, critiqued and provided invaluable input into the development of these tools. They've had had prototype sets in their shops for several months now. We went through several variations of prototypes and came up with what I think is a great set of new tools. Many thanks to Steve and Lew, you guys are good!

Introduction @Jim from Easy Wood Tools contacted us a time ago and asked us if we knew of a turner here on The Patriot Woodworker, who is experienced, and open minded to new tooling and designs, in order to fill a product testing position. Of course we could think no further than our own Lew Kauffman, our Wood Turners Forum host. After some back and forth and information gathering between interested parties, Lew was hired on an as needed, on call basis to test Easy Wood Tools products. Lew is a highly experienced turner, he knows the industry and he has the pulse of the turning world. Lew's work speaks for itself, from bowls to chairs to candle holders (shown at left) and various other vessels and forms, he has proven himself to be a great asset to our own organization here as a form host, and now he is being called upon into service by our own supporter, Easy Wood Tools. What happens next Easy Wood Tools will occasionally send Lew a tool to test, and review. There will generally be three kinds of reviews that Lew will perform for Easy Wood Tools. Reviews of tools in the development stage, not market ready, but in development. These reviews are confidential, these are intended for product feedback between Lew and EWT only. Reviews of tools ready for market entry. These tool reviews may or may not be accessible by the public. Reviews of tools that are in open market, these reviews will be publicly accessible, as a review topic here in our community of that particular tool, and the review will be displayed throughout our newsletters and social media. Lew's reviews, both to our community here, and Easy Wood Tools, will be open and un-biased. We would expect nothing less of Lew. So without further adieu, perhaps @lew will step in and offer up some words, and this topic is open to any and all feedback and attaboys for Lew.
