Interesting article. I will have to confess that pipe clamps were some of my first clamps and are my go-to clamps for most edge glue ups. I find them easier to use than the parallel clamps that I own (Bessy and Jorgenson). I also like the fact that I can buy different lengths of pipe or couple them together for a variety of sizes without buying more clamps. When edge gluing, I normally do one over and one under along the length. And I have Masonite pads that I've hot-glued on the jaws. I do prefer black pipe, though, as I think the heads slip less with them. I have never had a problem

Had to move where I stored several pipe clamps I use alot to make room for a light over my toolbox. No one size fits all on this job. The 5 ft clamps are stored on this upper holder, non adjustable. Max clamps with my pads on them is 12, and that is full. Began with a layout. For this project I will be using some MDF and edge banding it with pine. Why? I had some on hand and this fit the bill. Next I loaded this up and left it overnight. So now we have it all painted up and some Formica put on the top.

Most of the glue ups are now done This mess will exit the clamps tomorrow, after a trip to the Doctor's office. Made some use out of the NEW Scrollsaw. I was a bit too tired to hand cut the corner blocks, so the scrollsaw did the dirty work. Was a bit hard to cut a straightline in 5/8" thick Poplar, but I got it close enough yeah, four of them. Two screws and a bit of glue. I'll come back later, and add a slot to attach the top with. Laid one piece of pine down to get a measurement for the bottom shelf Still have to cu
