The invasion of Normandy and the liberation of France, triggered the end of the war. Today is D-Day, honoring all the men who put it all on the line that day on those 5 beaches. Those men endured blistering direct fire into their landing crafts, and upon the beaches, limbs separating from bodies, and the blood of their brothers soaking their own clothing and skin, confusion, shock, focus, heroism, savagery, leadership, compassion, love, fear, sadness, darkness, and many more feelings and visions of carnage that we, the free, will never know, or ever want to know, thank God we have men willing to go perform the awful deeds that we could not ourselves, in order to preserve our way of life we have today. Now that, I'll take a knee for. May God Bless all our service members. And thank you D-Day heroes! Learn About D-Day, The Memorial, and Bedford - National D-Day Memorial WWW.DDAY.ORG

Pause a moment to offer thanks to all those brave men that stormed the beaches on that memorable day. We lost 6600 souls. The allies lost over 4000 during that operation. The greatest generation, indeed!

72 years ago today, June 6, 1944, the tide of the war in Europe was turned with the invasion of France on Normandy Beach. A very heroic and bloody day for the Allies. As necessary as it was, may it never be required again. Thanks to the Greatest Generation. True patriots all.
