So I've started again... The first bowl is a plain bowl how ever I wouldn't mind giving a go at putting some designs into the walls of the bowl. I'm not exactly sure how possible that would be with sanding and going thin on the walls on the hollowing. I've got two more myrtle blanks to turn through this is only the first one. But I'm just curious as if it would be to just keep it simple. I'm not good at doing highly detailed stuff as of yet.

Started this myrtle wood project this evening. So far its turning quite nicely. I'm finding that even if it's dried out myrtle wood is extremely wet wood. Oh well it still turns nice. So far its shaped and the outside of the bowl sanded down to 600 and has a nice shine to it. Got pretty much all of the tool marks out of the bowl. Hopefully I don't crack the side wall when I go to sand it out after hollowing it this time. I've got the maple and this myrtle going to my older step brother and his wife they don't even know it yet.

I was originally going to just toss this in the yard waste bin....
