Okay, so my wood bowl finish has already begun to congeal and it wont be long before it goes bad entirely. I got some good use of it while it lasted. Oh well, I'll have to order more at some point. How ever I still have a ton of boiled linseed oil left. I've heard rumors that the stuff tends to rot because it is a plant based product made from crushing plant seeds. How ever I'm wondering if any of you had any problems with it via turning pens and using it as a finish. Thanks.

Okay so this was an interesting turn of events. Hollowing went smoothly. Not too much catching thankfully. I was able to get a nice enough shape for a dip bowl inside of the look that I was trying to go for. You guys have seen the start. I'm just about finished with this project here. I do have resin in hand for the inside of the bowl for the coating and I also have mineral oil. Not sure what else I could do to finish it up. I only sanded it up to 400 grit on the papers. I've still gotta cut off the mortise section. Either way I like the way this one is turning out. I'm sure it will

Well, June is over half way done and summer begins on Saturday! It was almost a "4 For" Mimi and me. When we were married it was the first day of summer (and the longest day of my life the year). This year the first day of summer falls on June 20. Had it been one day later we could have had Fathers Day, first day of summer, longest day of the year and our anniversary all at once!
