We have been wanting to upgrade the surface sanding for some time. We have a couple projects coming up ( kitchen and stairs) that without a good sander will perhaps extend beyond my serviceable life span. We have been following Craigslist etc for some time now without much luck. They went on sale so my boss decided to bite the bullet. It was delivered today. It’s a 37” double headed Grizzly drum sander. The wiring and dust collection were a bit of work but now it’s time to install it. Paul

I have wanted a drum sander for a long time and I really want a Supermax 16-38 but really it's too big for what I do and of course several more $100 than the Jet. Has anyone had any experience with the Jet 10" sander? Thanks for any help.

In this video I show how I install velcro backed sandpaper on my dual drum sander. I know a lot of you don't have drum sanders, but this will be good information for new owners of drum sanders that have not had to replace the sandpaper yet. For those that are looking at getting a drum sander, this will give you a good idea of what it is like to replace velcro backed sandpaper and might help you make a decision for yourself if this is a feature that you want or not. I share a lot of gold nuggets on installation and things to look out for. I hope you find this video helpful and informative. Your friend in the shop, Todd A. Before Christmas when I was using my drum sander for making gifts I decided to take it apart after Christmas for a little tweaking. When I got it the table needed to be made parrellel to the drum (fixed), I found out that it works better with a dust collector attached (so far), but the biggest problem is that the drum is about 10 thousandths out of round on the outside end. This makes a vibration when used on that end, and it doesn't allow the full use of the sandpaper around the drum. This is what it looks like right now. My plan is to take the drum to my cousin and have him remachine it, reinstall it and tune everything up.
