  1. Twenty two years ago today everything in America changed. Our comfort was high and our guard was down and 2977 Americans paid the price. We talk about the price of freedom but too often our elected leaders treat this as a talking point instead of a reality. On that day the cost of freedom became real and we all felt the pain. I fear as time passes we will drift back into the arms of comfort and hope our enemies will never again be so successful. We say we will never forget but the culture in America today would have our history books minimize the story of 9-11 as not to offend our enemies. Our culture in America today would have our military trimmed down in an effort to avoid offending the global community. We speak of diplomatic efforts to manage peace with our enemies while they build power to grow advantage , spy on our country, buy up our important real estate. Defending the American rights we all enjoy from our constitution is under attack from within our own country with terms like racism and supremacy to separate us from ourselves. We say we will never forget and some of us never will. We remember exactly where we were on 9-11. But I fear the unity and single mindedness we all held days after 9-11 is gone today. For the first time in 22 years an American president will not remember 9-11 by paying a visit to one of the historic sites where so many Americans died at the will and determination of our enemies. I fear we will not always remember , slip into the calling arms of our American comfort and complacency while our enemies build strength and make plans for our future . calabrese55

    7500 Boots

Very touching, and dramatic to see the context, just imagining if those boots were filled, and they were standing side by side, the space they would take up. 7,500 Boots Are On Display At Fort Bragg To Honor Fallen Service Members - Task & Purpose TASKANDPURPOSE.COM More than 7,500 boots on display at Fort Bragg this month served as a temporary memorial to service members from all...
  4. While perusing a couple sites this morning I happened on this page within the Defense.gov website. The page is a well laid out dedication to the victims of the attack on the Pentagon. Click on a letter at the right column, and the names and biography appears at main page. The names represent those victims on the ground, and on the air plane. I started to go through the names and images, but I had to pull away, for many reasons, but I just thought I'd share it here. If you go to the "B" list, you'll see Bernard Brown, he was just 11 years old, goodness. http://archive.defense.gov/home/features/2011/0911_911/pentagon-victims.aspx
