This is a scanned document of the now defunct Workbench Magazine of this era. Permission was granted by the new Workbench Publication for The Patriot Woodworker community to copy and use the old Workbench Magazine at our pleasure, and for free distribution and re-use. This is a wonderful example of Danish work at its core, what a great crafts project to undertake, and it will sure to be the center piece of any table setting or this would also make a wonderful coffee table accessories. I love Danish, the simplicity, the folk art that surrounds it, and this looks like it would be a pretty simple project to turn out and carve out in a day. Hope you enjoy!- 1 review

This is a wonderful download for everyone to use. I love this time period of furnishings, and I love the Danish style that has become once again very popular, as a matter of fact, Danish Modern is a timeless style, and it never gets old. Someday, I would love to make this set of chairs, and I will, they are beautiful. Have fun! -

This schema is a very interesting version of a workbench. If you download and look at the schema, you'll not only have a great plan for a workbench, but you'll also see many parts that can be built separately for your own workbench, new or existing, there are quite a few great ideas in this schema. There are even details on building your own wooden vise, a very interesting vise at that. Enjoy!-

Permission was granted by the new Workbench Publication for The Patriot Woodworker community to copy and use the old Workbench Magazine at our pleasure, and for free distribution and re-use. This is a wonderful project, from one of my favorite time periods, Colonial America. Just imagine making this project from maple, or better yet, curly maple and giving it a dark deep antique stain. As is with all these Workbench Magazine plans, they are more of a schematic than they are plans, giving you dimensions and scaled grids for your own templates. -

View File Workbench Magazine September-October 1965 Cowboy Bookends This is a scanned document of the now defunct Workbench Magazine of this era. Permission was granted by the new Workbench Publication for The Patriot Woodworker community to copy and use the old Workbench Magazine at our pleasure, and for free distribution and re-use. Here is a wonderful diagram for cutting out some classic book ends for your western literature collection. I love these, they remind me of a bygone era of a classic boys room, with these cool bookends on a shelf of the wall. This plan also has a great suggestion for using molten lead for added weight of the bookends. Note the piano wire that is used for the lasso, it appears that as the cowboy draws the lasso tight, the bookends are also being drawn in to tighten upon the books! As I peruse my endless supply of the old Workbench Magazine, I come across some wonderfully fun articles, many that still pertain to our techniques in woodworking today. And when I do I like to share them here. So here goes, check out this very cool, old article from a Workbench Magazine 1965 Sept-Oct issue. How to use a wood lathe. Have fun! Do the speeds for turning still apply?

Permission was granted by the new Workbench Publication for The Patriot Woodworker community to copy and use the old Workbench Magazine at our pleasure, and for free distribution and re-use. I love cobblers benches, dad made one many years ago for uncle, and it turned out to be the discussion of many a party and get together. You can use the cobblers bench for a coffee table, end table, or even to work on in a real life working environment. The schematics of this plan are good, they assume the builder already has a grasp on the fundamentals of woodworking. Have fun! -
