Anyone have any experience with the Grizzly mobile bases? I'm looking at the T28923 which they call The Bear Crawl "Papa Bear" Mobile Base. It's rated at 1200 lbs, so it should handle my Delta Contractor's saw. My main concern is if the foot levers that allow movement of the saw and then stabilize it again are robust enough. The price is reasonable, if it is a good product.

With all the stuff going on, I finally got my Brand New Saw Stop contractor saw all put together. I had it all in my garage for some time in boxes. I had to put it aside as I needed to get all of my tools and stuff out of the tubs and onto some new shelves and get my wife's stuff in order so she can put the car in the garage. So here are a few pics of the new table saw with the mobile base which works really good.

Delta Floor Model Drill Press. I currently have it mounted on a 1 1/2" thick plywood base with wheels underneath which raises the whole thing about 4 1/2" above the floor. It's always felt a bit too high. My other recent post concerning adding an auxiliary table will make the work surface even higher. So I'm thinking that I should re-do the mobile base to get the work surface lower to the ground. Again, I've seen several designs and would appreciate your suggestions. Due to my 'shop' size I would like to keep the drill press mobile. I also thought about making a standing platform....hinge it to the front of the base to flip up when not in use or flip down when I need to do some drilling.

This past Sunday I ordered the Shop Fox Mini Base for my Grizzly G0555 Band Saw. I have had my band saw up on casters for years, and it's always been a tad high. The casters are about 3" tall, so the band saw is kind of a good fit for a 6' tall woodworker at this point, I am only 5'-9". Also when pushing material through the resaw blade, the band saw wants to walk and rock a bit because of the height of the casters, so am hoping the low profile mobile base will stabilize the saw. I should be getting it this Thursday, I'll let ya all know how it feels and works!
