  1. From the album: The Patriot Woodworkers with Operation Ward 57 Adopt a Wounded Warrior Family for the Holidays - 2022

The new Laguna Fusion line was developed for demanding woodworkers. Designed around quality components with an emphasis on superior dust collection enhanced by utilizing over/under collection & sealed bottoms. All models are equipped with a precision fence, plus the F2 & F3 feature the Hi/Low aluminum extrusion known from European saws. The hybrid fence on the Laguna Fusion offers the best of European and American fence features. This fence is NOT designed to be used on the LEFT side of the blade! Rail or tube on the LEFT side is provided only to make the ON/OFF switch position. Permanently lubricated bearings & Acme screws are part of the internal DNA. Fusion 2 is the true successor to the original Fusion Table Saw. The task was simple: make a saw that was more refined, more precise, and cleaner.
  2. I've been a subscriber to one of our sponsors notification emails for a good while. To their credit the volume of emails sent is minimal and definitely never a nuisance. In fact, many are quite informative even if outside my reach or skill set. I highly recommend you subscribe if you haven't already. That said, email today is a sign-up for a 16/32 sander give-away. A link was provided to share as well. Sharing the link provided no increased chance to win or promise of any form of compensation. Just thought I should share. Thanks to our sponsor for making offers such as this. @John Morris...if this should have been posted in a different forum, please move. I just thought it would receive the most visibility here. https://lagunatools.com/1632-giveaway/
  3. Well, I finally got the Laguna bandsaw from the fundraiser in December. It got delivered on Friday, Apr 2. It took me awhile to get it all together and set up properly. At least I hope it is set up properly. I made a cut to check blade drift, and I can't see any drift at all. And that is with the fence locked up square to the table with no adjustments. I am posting a picture of that cut, showing a marked line, and the cut line slightly off from the marked line to see it it wandered at all, and it looks perfect to me. The lighting in the picture of the bandsaw is weird, but that is because I normally have a "corn" light in that room that I purchased from Rockler. That is a very bright light, and it flooded out the picture, so I had to remove it and put in a weaker flood light to get a better picture. So here are the pictures.

All proceeds from this raffle will be used to purchase gifts for Xavier, Alexander and little Amelia and to provide a Christmas dinner for the family. The Family This year we are proud to be supporting the Akin Family from Grass Valley, California. They include Mr. Akin our wounded warrior, Mrs. Akin, his spouse, and Xavier, their 5 year old son, Alexander, their younger 2 year old son, and little Amelia, their new 2 month old baby girl. The Akin Family Below History Mr. Akin was deployed to Afghanistan in 2012, he was riding in the gunner seat of a JERRV (Joint Engineering Rapid Response Vehicle) in a convoy, and the vehicle was hit by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) almost directly under where he was sitting. His team leader was wounded in his head resulting in a Terminal Brain Injury, but Mr. Akin sustained the brunt of the explosion force and shrapnel. Joint Engineering Rapid Response Vehicle Mr. Akin spent his time recovering at a hospital in Fort Lewis, Washington, from a broken left femur, resulting in rod and screws being placed down his entire femur. His right foot and ankle were shattered, followed by a year and a half that included 5 surgeries, plates and screws, then eventually resulting in a below the knee amputation. He also fractured his tail bone, and received a head wound resulting an a Terminal Brain Injury. In Closing Ok Patriot Woodworker's, it's time to muster and it's time to show everyone what we are all about! The purpose our woodworking community was created is for this reason, to help those who have served us, and paid the price. We also need to thank our sponsors Woodcraft Supply, Laguna Tools, and Easy Wood Tools for their generous support! For without them, we would not have a community, nor would we be able to perform the work we do. Thank you guys!
