  1. Most of my work is highlighted by my laser engraver work, I am selling items like this so I can earn the capital to buy more tools to do fancier stuff.
  2. As I am trying to do that very thing this weekend, it requires a lot more skill, tools and patience than I has anticipated.
  3. Got asked to make these for a friend to give to her family. They love playing games out doors. I didn't even realize were a thing until I post them on Facebook.
  4. I didn't even think to look for the sawmills. Thank you. Sorry it took me so long to respond, I never got any notifications that anyone replied.
  5. I was wondering where does everyone get their wood from. The wife is wanting to start doing cutting boards and the like, so I am looking for different exotic woods to start making pieces. Been to all the lumber stores around here and they don't have a lot and what they do have is a hefty price, so I was wondering does anyone have a secret place they get their's from that is not going to cost me an arm and a leg?
  6. The questions are mainly those you ask yourself about if you can really afford that expensive one with the good reviews and will that one be the best one for what you need. Like I said I can looking for one that can be mounted into a pre-fab table for the short term until I can get me a table top built for it. I'll mainly be using it for boat paddles and some smaller frames, so what would be the lowest AMP and HP would I need to accomplish this the easiest? Reviews have steered me away from some cheaper ones, so I definitely read those.
  7. Hello again folks, so we are looking to add a new tool to the arsenal in the shop and I am going crazy searching for it. We are wanting a Router, we prefer one right now with a pre-fab table so we can start making our own paddles out of pine for our projects. However, the more I search the more questions I have and no one at Home Depot or Lowe's is any help, we don't really have many local hardware stores that I know of, if any. Can anyone here point me in the right direction?
  8. As usual, Lew to the rescue. Thank you sir.
  9. Does anyone here use a design program or anything to draw up plans for their work? I am wanting to build my own workbench and would like to draw up some plans for it.
  10. Lew found the exact ones I needed in the link he provided. Thanks kmealy.
  11. Lew, You are awesome sir. Thank you!!!
  12. It's on the inside of a drawer where the face drops done. I am guessing it was meant to be so you could hide your keyboard and mouse in the drawer and pull it out when you needed to use it. Basically the springs in the latch just wore out. I looked all over Rockler's site and found one of 2 latches I might be able to use, but I would really like to find new pieces and put it on. We got this desk second hand and there is some work I have to do on it to bring it back to it's previous glory, but it will all be worth it.
  13. Thank you Gentlemen, I will look into it.
  14. I am trying to repair my desk. I need 2 of these little "leaf spring locks" Or at least I think that's what these are called. I have looked in the local big box stores, but can't find them. Anyone have any ideas?
  15. From the album: Laser Engraver Pieces

My first actual piece of wood work. I took an 8 foot red cedar 4x4 and turned it into this beauty.
  16. From the album: Laser Engraver Pieces

Another set for the Organization that I owe a lot of my work to. The President has helped me go above and beyond where I thought I could go with wood working and art pieces.
  17. From the album: Laser Engraver Pieces

Ordered as 1st Place Trophies for a Golf Tournament in California. Unfortunately I haven't graduated to making my own paddles, yet. Still need some tools before I get there. But all engraved and wrapped by yours truly.

Who We Are

Operation Ward 57 Challenge Coin Display Project

We are a woodworking community with an emphasis on sharing and learning the skilled craft of woodworking and all of its related disciplines. Our community is open to everyone who wishes to join us. We support our American veterans and active duty, being a veteran is not a prerequisite to join. Join us now!

Air Force Command Center Plaque

Of course just like most online woodworking communities we are centralized in the arts, crafts, and trades that are woodworking. But, we have another focus in our Patriot Woodworker community, we are the only woodworking community that was founded on our care and concern for our disabled veterans.

Patriot Woodworker Volunteers

The Patriot Woodworkers are an all volunteer community, from the staff and hosts who run our online woodworking community to the members who frequent our forums, you'll find volunteers in all of us. We are not on a payroll, unless you consider the spiritual rewards gained from volunteering, as compensation.

One of the many projects we are working on is a wiki for our online community. A wiki is a great way for woodworkers and enthusiasts to share their knowledge to others, and to impart their knowledge for others to learn from, and utilize as well for their own benefit. We hope you'll consider being a wiki contributor.
