FlGatorwood got a reaction from John Morris in Shopsmith Grinder Attachment
John, that is why we are here to share what we remember. We each have our strengths and weaknesses. So, we are all trying to assist others with what strengths we have. Glad to help. As I said, I either sharpen before turning or after. I have 2 sets of chisels so I get all honed up and turn for a couple hours. Today, our grandson turned his first pen from mahogany. Will create another thread.

John, and other Shopsmith owners, here is a thread I did in February or about, I have this system and I purchased a Oneway holding system. It works very well. To keep the dust from the bench and way tubes, a small piece of plywood, masonite, or tape some wax paper to the tubes and it will deflect the metal dust. Yes, it is variable speed. And, you can rotate the stone housing so you can hone from the back side. The stone is rotating from the user. I use this to sharpen all my lathe chisels. Hope this helps.
Oh, I never see one of these on eBay. And, you can get stones from other places as the bore is 5/8" and I don't remember the outer diameter, but it is a rather common size. Just get a dressing tool.

Handy weapon but a really neat idea of recycling something so many folks no longer use. We used to make sausage every November with pork. I ground many pounds while my Granny shouted for me to keep my finger from the intake.

Do we get to see? I know Mama wanted it last season, but was hoping you got it finished and put into service. Don't feel bad. I was going to make some objects for a cousin last June, but with all the time I have had to spend with Ann, I hope to get started this week. Wish me luck.

Are you sure that you don't have Legos mixed in? LOL You must have spent a lot of time cutting and then gluing. I am impressed.
Kevin, there used to be a guy in Dayton, just north of you that did customized furniture and boards. I can't remember the name right now, but I did buy a couple of boards from him about 15 years ago.

I have an old Dewalt drill driver that is battery powered. The other day, I could not get the battery to connect into the charger. The flashing light told me it was a bad battery. When I turned it over, the battery simply fell out. I realized that the battery was not pushed into the charger sufficiently, so I pressed down and it worked. It is a replacement battery that is about 1 year old. It charged and works fine. Just had to give it that extra push to seat it in the charger.

This is what I got when I tried the link
Guess I won't be watching it any time soon as I cut the cord and do not have a "cable" tv
THC is about the only channel that I did miss when we switched services. Maybe one day The History Channel might come into the 21st century
There's probably a joke in there somewhere...

It was an hour long show when I watched it when you count the commercials.

That's one segment of it. IIRC, the full episode was about 48 minutes. I had the active link saved, but when I try to use it, it points to the same place Fred located.

Actually it's been out for a while. I watched it several months ago. At the time, picked it off HC website and watched it on my tablet.
@Fred W. Hargis Jr is spot on; very interesting segment. Definitely worth the watch if you can access.
