Gunny--- just for kicks, check out JIS [Japanese Industrial Standard] I replaced all my regular Phillips screwdrivers with a small set of jis.  These simply do not cam out screw heads as easily as regular ones seem to do. Especially work well for small foreign metric applications. Works for me.

Work continues on making organizers for this drawer. Magnets hold them in place.

Everyone I know are good but here is the issue I've had since all this has started
The Mrs tells me I'm stubborn and I have proved her correct
I refuse to wear a mask except when sanding or staining etc so my stock has gotten alot more expensive or unavailable
Withdrawal is sitting in now that siding project is close and gardening is about over
I'm gonna have to figure something out soon! I just can't let others pick out my wood because sometimes we get inspired just by looking thru beautiful wood
Anyway enough whining everybody stay safe and thanks again for all the great forums

We jumped to 595 new ones, statewide. 4 in our present county. 151 in our new county. It's population is over a million, though. Our new zip is holding steady at 178 total. No new ones.

If masks are not effective in preventing the transmission of the virus, why do doctors and nursed insist on wearing them? Unfortunately, politics is now driving the CDC, not science. The masks worked to bring down the death tolls in NY, NJ, MA because the states enforced it. These were the states that were hit first and hardest.  Today, I see more people becoming lax about wearing the masks and our numbers have begun to climb. With winter coming, more and more people will be getting colds and the flu, which will mean more people will be coughing and sneezing, spreading the virus even further. States not enforcing the wearing of masks is where the tolls are highest today. Masks don't protect you, they help in preventing you from spreading the virus if you have become infected. Are they 100% effective? No, but they do slow the spread.

If it's a "Covid room" then they already have it. They have tested (+). So the mask is for me (us)/staff. It is to prevent us from contracting the virus from the patient.

Does that protect them from you, you from them? Or both.

If patients are on mechanical vent the N95 is not required. It is considered to be a "closed system" in other words their exhalation is contained within the ventilator. But it is your option to wear it in to any Covid room.

They are the go to mask for us in the hospital,....used to be only used for the most part on TB patients. Really not that often. Thus the sudden shortage when all this kicked in.

    CDC explanation.
"An N95 FFR is a type of respirator which removes particles from the air that are breathed through it. These respirators filter out at least 95% of very small (0.3 micron) particles. N95 FFRs are capable of filtering out all types of particles, including bacteria and viruses.Aug 8, 2020"

The manufacturer of the masks states they are ineffective with kids, the mask will not seal around their faces.

The N95 masks filter the virus out.  The masks we wear are to keep infected people from coughing/emitting the virus droplets/particles into the air.  Filtering breathed in air is only somewhat effective.

I made a couple of their pizza cutters (round wheel). The $22 one is really nice and I made the handle to unscrew.

That’s where I get the mills and scoops from. The scoop is the hawksbill one. I have tried some of their other items and they were Either not very good quality or something people just didn’t use such as the coffee scoop. The garlic press is not good at all. The pin comes out after a while. The vegetable peeler itself is OK but people tend to want to put them in the dishwasher which doesn’t work well for wooden handles.

It’s the end of Sept so for me I start getting the Xmas present stash going. My usual is ice cream scoops, salt and pepper mills and bowls. Today I didn’t have a lot of time so rather then get involved in the latest cabinet project I turned a handle for an ice cream scoop. I actually found a relative that doesn’t already have one. I have been giving them out for years. Of all the items I make they are by far the most popular and quickest to make. Usually less than an hour start to finish. This one is cherry.

Mirka is the brand I use on my Bosch 5" ROS.  Been happy with that brand. It's available in boxes of multi grits and single grits.
