Thanks, John! I was shaping ebony fingerboards and my 9 1/4" Handyman was too large. And the No. 60 1/2 I did not yet own was both too expensive and not delicate enough for tiny bevel work.

 

This, the smallest LN planes, is too small for production fingerboard shaping, but she worked for me. And stayed sharp for a long time - what a great  blade [iron]! For detail work, I can put a crisp .3mm bevel along the edge of a fingerboard or craft item.

 

And believe you me, owners notice small attentions to detail ;) When they have their hand wrapped around your neck 3-5 hours a day, you want to make it pretty and comfortable. :D
