Popular Post Cal
Looks like my week is full of needs... I need to clean up the Duster today after a nice drive on Saturday. I need to do jury duty Tuesday (or face the consequences). I need to see if there is any Baltic Birch or apple ply within a reasonable distance for a dresser build, and get some if available. I need to get off my butt and get busy... Woodman, Fred W. Popular Post forty_caliber
Ordered two African Mahogany (Khaya) bowl blanks as part of Mrs. Boss's Christmas. Found them on sale (25% off) at Cook Woods. Not what I would call inexpensive by any measure but as they say....happy wife=happy life. One quarter-sawn for a platter 12x12x3 and one 14x14x4.5 for a chip and dip bowl if I've interpreted the not so subtle hints correctly. Other than that, just working the J.O.B. .40 HARO50, Woodman, Larry Buskirk and 5 others 6

Popular Post PeteM
FINALLY, yesterday, re-grouted wife's side of master bath sink. Ground the grout out about 6 months ago, then dithered. Tried the Fusion Pro stuff (no need for sealing), and it worked really well. Used all of 5% of the small bucket, so now must find use for the rest. Here, kitty kitty kitty! lew, Grandpadave52, Larry Buskirk and 4 others 1

Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr
Somber day at our house (huge understatemant). We just got back from having our little dog put to sleep. Only 5, she developed some kind of neural problem where she couldn't stand, walk, or do much of any movement. I gotta tell ya', it hurts. We really loved our little dog. Al B, lew, Cal and 12 others 7
DAB
nothing in the shop this week planned. was talking to a friend earlier, they got very emotional, so that was the end of that phone call. why can't people talk about things without pulling out the emotion card, or the gender card, or the racial card? i wasn't there, i didn't do anything, i can't fix what is wrong, why are you yelling at me? just wanted to talk about some recent news stories.....fail. Popular Post kmealy
Recovering from the weekend of theater shows; 4 performances that went well with only minor set repair/enhancements. SpongeBob went well. Monday morning went to the furniture bank and a group of 6 of us cut parts for many more tables and assembled 30. Added to 30 we did on Thursday with a group of outside volunteers. The paint guy has his work cut out. Also repaired a couple of pieces. One upholstered chair had a front leg that broke off and had the T nut fall out. As it turns out the whole leg was held in by two layers of Chinese red glue 1/4" crappy plywood that broke off. Who makes this stuff? HARO50, Grandpadave52, Woodman and 5 others 7

The neuro toxin paralyzed the back legs for about an hour, then he recovered. First aid was drenching mouth and face with water spray. We were lucky. Popular Post PeteM
4 hours ago, StaticLV2 said: Ummm… I think you grouted in where the sink goes? Looks that way, eh?! When planning remodel, we really liked the "trough" sink design / style. It morphed into a depressed area of the tiles about 18" across. The actual "sink" is a laboratory cup sink (about 8x4) attached to the underside of the plywood below. The trick is to line the tile throat with tiles that extend an inch or so below the underside of the plywood (so water doesn't lap over onto the plywood). It did really well for about 16 years, then the wife's side started leaking, and I realized that constant scrubbing of the tiles on her side (I have a higher tolerance for debris I guess) had worn out the original (cement) grout. The Fusion Pro is much more durable (check back in 20 years?). Anyway the design makes for a really spacious counter. Lots more room for facial goo and other interesting containers. steven newman, HARO50, Larry Buskirk and 7 others 6
