Popular Post DeVere
Should be 85 today. What?! “They” say it’ll rain tonight. Bring it on! HARO50, Al B, DuckSoup and 7 others 10 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Al B
Another cool day with high temperature at 53 degrees. A SW wind at 6mph and RH at 53 %. Air quality is fair due to brush fires in surrounding towns. The largest burning over 250 acres so far. The National Guard helicopters are helping to douse that fire. Everything is really dry here. Badly in need of some rain. Edited October 29 by Al B Grandpadave52, HandyDan, Larry Buskirk and 4 others 5 2 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Grandpadave52
4:25P, EDT; sitting at 80° with Blue sky that's just a bit hazy. Probably from dust as we had gusts over 45 mph earlier. Still gusty but less than 30mph. Had a full size apple tree that's been dead for a couple years blow over earlier. At least I don't have to cut it down now. Al B, Larry Buskirk, Cal and 4 others 6 1 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post HARO50
Had a serious rainstorm go through here from roughly 1:30 to 2:30. Left us just over 1 1/2"! Fred W. Hargis Jr, Larry Buskirk, Grandpadave52 and 4 others 5 2 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post 4DThinker
8:25 PM. Still 78° out there. Low tonight to bottom out at 70°. Cloudy and windy with gusts up to 19mph from the southwest. Pollen still VERY high. Humidity at 45%. Rain tomorrow to start around 10:00AM and continue all day. That'll be a nice change and greatly appreciated. Should stop the fire weather warnings for awhile. Personal note: I finally threw out a tape measure that I was issued when in college. Numbers were wearing/peeling off. The lock button was broken. It had my initials stamped in the side of it. That poor Stanley 12 footer served a proud life and I'll miss it, but younger models have moved in including one that has dual metric and imperial scales on it. Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr
The wind lived up to it's billing yesterday, to make things really pleasant our property is surrounded on the west and south sides by a crop field, it happened to have double crop soybeans in it the the farmers decided to get out yesterday. The dust was miserable, and with a SW wind it came at us. It's a relatively small field (75 acres) so he got it done quickly enough but it was still a miserable experience, couldn't walk outside without getting dust in your eyes. Anyway, this morning it's 64° and today will be a repeat of yesterday, After hitting 78°, today might be even warmer, probably 80°, and the danged wind is still here. Still quite windy but not like yesterday. Rain supposed to be here by tomorrow morning. Figures trying to get out early for doctors appointment. Fred W. Popular Post HandyDan
The wind was here too. Blew the leaves around. Hope those the went into the woods stay there. We made it to 77°. The weatherman said it was a new record for that date set in 1999. May beat the record again today with sunny skies and 75° for a high predicted. No rain in sight. Popular Post Al B
Had a little rain last night. Actually, less than 1/10th of an inch. High temperature today reached 58 degrees with overcast skies and a SW wind blowing at 11 mph. RH is 76%. Rain wasn't much help with the fires but fire fighters say they have the big fire contained. Air quality if poor. HandyDan, Larry Buskirk, HARO50 and 5 others 6 2 Quote Link to comment

Should keep raining until 9PM or so. Cooled down quite a bit with wind up to 9mph from the north. Pollen level still Very High. Humidity at 79%. Visibility down to 1.5 miles. UV index at 1 thanks to the cloud cover. Low overnight should stop at 44° and the high tomorrow should peak at 60°. Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr
The wind continues to get worse around us. Today we are under a wind advisory, with gusts predicted be 50 MPH. The rain we've been promised for several days looks to be a big nothing....I guess it breaks up before it gets this far east. So, right now it's 65° and will be in the low 70s later. The wind will be around all day, but absolutely fierce between 9A to maybe 3P. Rain will be spotty during that same time. Miserable day for Halloween trick or treat. Al B, Cal, HARO50 and 5 others 5 3 Quote Link to comment

Popular Post Grandpadave52
Another 80° day yesterday. Wind did pick up in the afternoon gusting to ~30mph. 7:10A, EDT; Like Fred, we're under a High Wind Advisory with sustained winds 30-40 mph and gusts 50+ mph as the storm front passes. AccuWeather says it will be here by 8A; predictions from .25" to .5" of rain with some areas getting more. Front looks nasty on the radar. Supposed to be out of here by NOON. Currently, 66°, South wind already gusting to ~30 mph; looks like we're at the high temp for the day now. 76% RH, 59° DP. Upper 30's tonight. Start another warming trend this weekend. Also the time jockey insanity strikes at 2A Sunday. Fred W. Hargis Jr, DuckSoup, Al B and 5 others 6 2 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post HandyDan
They issued a wind statement for us. New one on me maybe someone got hurt when they said advisory? Winds gusting to 45mph. Plenty of sun to go with it taking us to 76°. Fred W. Hargis Jr, Grandpadave52, 4DThinker and 4 others 5 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Al B
It's Halloween and mother nature has given us a treat with a temperature up to 75 degrees, wind at 6 mph from the SW and RH at 57%, A mostly sunny day but the fire is still burning and the air quality is fair. We could definitely use some rain here. I could really start a good brush fire in my back yard with all the leaves that have fallen. Fred W. Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr
Once again the rain decided to not show up yesterday. I did see some drops on the window, but not enough to get the driveway wet. But the wind was here to make the day miserable. At one point we hit 70° so it wasn't all that cold. Today is a different story, very cool this morning at 43°, and we might get to the middle 50s later. Still breezy, but nothing like yesterday.
