Popular Post HARO50
My dad's first lathe, purchased at Canadian Tire (IIRC) around 1958 - 1960. 48" total length, maximum turning length about 40". 8" swing. Price (Again IIRC) $29.97. Motor not included. Somewhere I still have two banjos, short and long tool rests, and the turning tools. We turned many a project on this, until Dad got the Shopsmith around 1970. Don't really know why I kept it all these years, but it's headed for the scrap heap! Holy cow....wish I lived closer 'cause I'd add that to my hoard 'er collection in a heart beat. Love the story as much the tool. Perhaps list on CL or FB Marketplace? Too cool and serviceable for scrap John. JMO. FlGatorwood, DuckSoup, RustyFN and 5 others

Yeah probably more so than the user value, but for a youngster to start out with before making a big investment or even shorten the bed for someone as an occasional user to turn small spindles or tool handles or??? Again JMO and the hoarder instinct talking. FlGatorwood, Gunny, HARO50 and 4 others 4

Popular Post Larry Buskirk
I'm with Gramps, probably why I can't get into the shop. Well other than the fact it's not heated. No talkin' dirty on this website!! Oh, you mean the SAW!!! All original except for the cord and plug. (The original one just sorta disintegrated.) Motor still runs, but sometimes takes a few minutes to warm up. The bent wire was put there to keep my son's fingers safe when he was about 10. Wish I could John. You wouldn't have to give me anything either although the coffee sounds great and perhaps a 12 pack from Tim Hortons would sweeten the deal a little . Unfortunately the longest trip I've made in the truck in a single setting since my surgery is 2 hours. Had the heated seat on the entire time and the air conditioning running on high to keep from melting. Well, that and by then needed a "pit stop" anyways If l left now I might be there by spring if there's no snow. I'd probably embarrass you around your friends anyways with my "southern accent." That and I never can remember if you use the 'eh at the beginning of a sentence or the end.
