FrederickH
Can someone tell me which is the correct way to use this tool? Flute up or down on the tool rest? lew
Gerald
I made one from a planer blade and used it flute up . I have not tried flute down it just seemed intuitive to me -up. Even tho I did thin the back it gets grabby when you get more than 1 inch in . The cut is wonderful and looks just like you planed it with a skew. lew and FrederickH
HandyDan
For some reason there is no picture. I have a Sorby and it is used flute up. The ridges of the flute create the sharp points that score the wood fibers on the way in creating the cut smooth. If you use it down you will ruin those edges on the tool rest. I love mine.
