Popular Post Gerald 12,760
Well it had to be to good to be true. Finished the coffee bar and the she wants a shelf with hooks for coffee cups. The real kicker is these are not the cups she uses every day but cups from the regular set of dishes. First up is to turn shaker pegs from walnut. This is something we have talked about in the turning forum. They all look the same but there are some variances. One has a larger button end , one is longer, one is shorter, one is thinner. But they are close enough that you may be able to tell some difference in photo however not all. Popular Post Smallpatch 9,440
Wow I bought a bunch of those from a scroll saw supplier and at 38 cents a piece I don't think I wanted to spend that much time at the lathe. They only had birch, maple or oak but with a little color they could be made to look like any wood. After looking at the picture I just now noticed an old Fun City go-cart ticket from years gone by. If by any chance when we would be eating at a restaurant and any young kids at the restaurant we were at I would get up and go give them a ticket or two and tell them if they were not 9 years old yet to save those tickets for when they got that age they could come out to Fun City and each ticket was a free ride. Before their 9th birthday they had to ride with mom or day so these tickets put some smiles on every ones faces. No one knew my name but I was that guy with the fun city tickets who also started all the motors each day and night. Oh , I forgot, that place with the pegs is The Wooden Teddy Bear Gerald, Gunny, Cal and 5 others

Popular Post HandyDan 97,051
Amazing how that works. "They all look the same to me". Don't go beating me up for saying that, I would have said that if they were Maple or Walnut too. Fred W. Hargis Jr, Larry Buskirk, DuckSoup and 5 others 6

Popular Post Smallpatch 9,440
And I don't use a one of them hanging there.. I use a large insulated thing with a lid that's almost as old as I am .. She wanted something on the wall so she could clear out one of the cabinets for something else? I bet most of them are full of dust. Honey, I didn't mean it to sound like that! Cal, Thad, Larry Buskirk and 7 others

Popular Post HARO50 11,829
You must have some friends who like to travel! We have at least 20 mugs from places we've never been. Florida, Panama, Jamaica... all kinds of places. Add to that the mugs WE picked up along the way, and we have so many that we have to take a dozen or so every few years and donate them to a local charity. Popular Post Gerald 12,760
Finically finished the shelf . Only one problem is the intended display cups will not fit over the pegs. But fear not the intended user jumped into action and ordered a mug of the same design to see if it will fit and these cost $18 each. Thank goodness there are only six pegs. The happy user is pictured below. Fred W. Hargis Jr, Larry Buskirk, Thad and 8 others 10
