Popular Post 1fizgig
Looking good John. Funny, I was on Pinterest last night and came across massive cabinets for crafts storage and was joking with my wife about them. Look forward to seeing the finished product. Popular Post John Morris
Spent a little time yesterday on our poplar cabinet, I finished grooving two doors worth of rail and stile's for the raised panel doors. I took the glued up smaller panels and joined them, and glued them up to form two larger panels. I joined two edges together at the same time, you'll see two shavings coming from my jointer. This way, even if my iron is slightly off, and the edges are not square, it won't matter, all I do is flip one board 180 for the glue up, and the boards will join straight. Two panels below, for two doors, top and bottom doors of the cabinet. I moved on to the door frames now, I am doing haunched tenons on the rails, with the mortise on the stiles. I marked everything out first. A little trick I learned recently, knife cut the cut lines, and chisel some waste out, before cutting the tenon. Another trick I picked up along the way a few years back, can't remember where, perhaps on the Lie Nielsen website where I purchased the saw from, but as you cut, you can keep your eye on the mirrored reflection, if the reflection is angled, so is your cut, if the reflection is straight, so is your cut. Your cut is angled right. Your cut is angled left. Your cut is straight. With the tenons cut, I marked out the mortises in the stiles and went to chopping with my 1/4" mortiser. That's it for now folks! Thanks for following along! p_toad, Gerald, Cal and 10 others

My wife ended up bone on bone in both knees, and the orthopedic surgeon said it was because of the prednisone she had taken over the years for her asthma. She wound up in a wheelchair full time before she passed. He said it had been well known for years to cause degradation of the cartilage of the knees. Nobody told us that at the time. kmealy
But galoot was taken as a badge of honor. See #9 https://swingleydev.com/archive/faq.html So, you'll be using Dominos to join the rails and stiles???? Ted Cassidy was a fellow acromegliac. I had surgery for that two years ago this month.
