Great post.  Now that I have seen what you have thus far I am letting that brew in the back of my mind.  Might have a suggestion but ya never know when it might come.  I have these moments of divine insight, usually followed by a decade or so of absolute stupidity.

Lew, I don't know how I missed this. . . Oh, yes, tree trimming, grocery shopping, gift wrapping, etc.  LOL

 

Great post.  I really enjoyed the clean up on the lathe.  I use Johnson or Minwax Paste wax on the Shopsmith 2 a year.  The difference, I wash it down to remove the old wax and anything on top of it.  I use mineral spirits/paint thinner to strip, remove and clean.  Give it a couple hours and put on a good coat of wax.  Let it sit for about 15 minutes and then buff.  Rails, quill, table tops, table stands and anything where metal rubs against metal.  It is good for about 6 months of use.  Also, immensely enjoyed all the videos.  I had a very different idea of how to make the ladle, but she was a good face to look at.  LOL
