There are those out there that actually believe coffee in the mornings while overlooking bird feeders is not serious business. Popular Post HARO50
Can't let this go without a big "THANKS" to @Dadio for passing on the Easy Wood tools he won in a fundraiser here. I HAVE been using them from time to time, but work on our son's house still takes most of my time. Like others have said, this is one great and friendly site! Popular Post Dadio
All I can say is a great bunch of guys here, I too have been fortunate enough to win the $500. certificate that I used to help buy the Supermax drum sander from Laguna. I sold the Performax I had to a club member and with the gift certificate the Supermax only cost me $200. Also Handy Dan even sent me a desktop pen set he turned, plus a 30-06 pen pencil set in trade for a wooden plane. We also have to thank John for making all this possible. JimM
Several people are posting about the sharing of shop items or other physical things. What I appreciate as much is the generous sharing of knowledge, experience and encouragement, all enhanced with some humor and humility. Many of you have no idea how significant a cast off comment about saw blades, chisels, turning techniques, dust control, etc., etc. mean to those of us who aren't familiar with the various facets of woodworking. And, if someone needs further explanation in a thread, it is promptly sent along without judgement or ridicule. I'm about to begin some turning, and I'm sure I'll have plenty of pre-school-level questions that I won't be too embarrassed to post. I've followed or participated in a handful of other forums, and generally I haven't found this to be the case. On an old car forum I follow, a frequent response to a question is a snarky "you should have searched the archives." A big THANK YOU to you all!
