Fred W. Hargis Jr
Good news Dan! the reports re no new groups will be scheduled until the current lists are worked through. Link to comment
Gene Howe
My 2nd Moderna shot is scheduled for 2/17. Meanwhile, Phyl, being only 72, can't get an appt. anywhere in the county. Link to comment
FlGatorwood
Cal, I will ask the pharmacist on Saturday when I get my 2nd shot. Wife's shot card does say: Exp. 29 July 2021. I am guessing that is the duration of the immunization. Those who have had the infection of the virus, have a very short immunization period. Some have gotten it twice. I am wondering if they will get it multiple times until they get the vaccine. This is new territory. However, Dr. Fauci and a few others have stated that we may need a booster shot about July or a month or 2 later. I like the Johnson & Johnson ratings. Wife and I both have had the Moderna shots. Will report after I get my 2nd shot on Saturday. Link to comment
Fred W. Hargis Jr
It looks like Dan is luckier than the over 65 in my county. They (the county) announced they aren't taking any over 65 patients for at least 2 weeks due to vaccine shortages. Now I've got my fingers crossed that Marie and I will get our second shot on the 26th. BTW, our daughter got here second shot this past week (nurse) and said while the first shot wasn't any problem for here, the second shot had here just sitting one the couch for a day or two with nausea and severe muscle aches. Not trying to be alarming, I just find that strange. Link to comment
Gene Howe
My second one is due a week from tomorrow. I've read it can have uncomfortable effects but, some say they get less uncomfortable with older folks. We'll see. Link to comment

I really didn't expect to get an appointment but did. Looking forward to Saturday. Seems like a whole new life is ahead. Let's hope so. Link to comment
Gene Howe
FINALLY!!! Phyl got an appt for her first shot of Moderna today at 11:00. 41 miles away thru Tucson traffic but, worth the time and hassle. My second one is scheduled for next Wednesday. Link to comment
DuckSoup
My Dad received his first shot yesterday, said he feels great. Happiest I've seen him in months. Link to comment
HandyDan
Got my first shot today. Feel fine so far. Best 25 minutes I've had in a long time. Was on edge. Kept thinking they were going to call and say they ran out. One of my sisters got hers yesterday and says her arm was sore this morning but is less sore now. Link to comment
FlGatorwood
Got my 2nd shot today and it started getting sore within 20 minutes. Some Aspercreme will be applied and I am not sure that it will help, but will see. As promised, I would ask the pharmacist a couple of questions. First, what is the expiration date on the shot card? It is the expiration of the vial of the vaccine. It is like a shelf life of eggs, milk, cheese or bread. Second question, how long does this effect the body and keep us safer? Insufficient research and insufficient time to know how long it stays effective in the body, or how long it even stays in the body or what effect it has on the body later. Also, the shot card you receive is to assist when you travel so you don't have to quarantine. There is a new piece of information about the CDC getting feed back from patients. Those who have had the vaccination can go to vsafe.cdc.gov and get updates and provide answers to questions they have so they can better know what to do. In your information pack there is also a square code box that you can use your phone with, but I have no idea how it works. That's all the good news that I have on all this. Link to comment
Fred W. Hargis Jr
I only had minor soreness with the first shot, but now I'm seeing some news stories that the reaction is typically worse with the second one. The story goes that as you build the immune response, the side effects get worse...most of the time this is a flu-like feeling that doesn't last more than a day or two. Still OK by me, bring it on! Cal
The wife & I get our second (Moderna) jabs this coming Thursday. Our son's SO (in OH) got her 2nd dose of Pfizer this past week without side effects. Link to comment
HandyDan
Got the Pfizer shot yesterday and very minor soreness this morning. Have to flex the arm or touch area of shot to feel it. Link to comment
FlGatorwood
https://vsafe.cdc.gov/ you can give feedback and receive updates and other feedback. Today, lethargic and stomach feels like muck. Hopefully, this will last only today or less. Link to comment
FlGatorwood
Today, CDC texted me to give them input to my condition. All good. Not even a sore arm. I give the CDC the feedback they request, they send me a 6 digit number to review my profile, then I sign out. Doing my part to provide feedback to them so they can know what to look for. FlGatorwood
It is appearing that with these new variants coming, our vaccination may need a booster. I guess with time and research, we'll see if it is necessary. Mercy, I hope not. While our local infection rate is down to 8.2%, we are still getting new cases and having more deaths everyday. And, I sometimes forget my mask until I almost reach the store. I then turn around and go back to the van to retrieve my mask. Link to comment
Cal
For our Ohio brethren, our son got his second jab of the Pfizer vaccine on Monday afternoon - said he had no effects from it, that was as of last night. And that is what his SO reported from her second dose also. Link to comment
Fred W. Hargis Jr
Maybe a sure sign things are improving, our Waffle House is open again! They closed within a week of the initial lockdown. That aside, the Ohio numbers (new cases, hospitalizations, etc.) do look encouraging. Link to comment
