Larry Buskirk
Probably a "Stupid" question as we make our way through the Pandemic gripping the world today, but just had to ask. As to us here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" the wife had to go to the Doctor yesterday, no we don't have it, Don't want it. She started having breathing problems a couple of days ago, luckily she decided better get it checked before she ended up in the hospital where we know they do have it. Turns out her Bronchitis got triggered by the "Rust Dust Pollen" our Norway Spruce trees started dumping earlier this month when we got our first, and last 60° day. She's now on a couple of meds including the boss's @John Morris favorite.. Prednisone. This isn't going to be fun. Sure is strange going out with all the closed places. So how are Ya'll dealing with the sudden strangeness of the world around us today? John Morris, HARO50, Gunny and 2 others 3
Popular Post lew
Layin' low and trying to stay away from the TV. We live a few miles from a State Park. The trails are open so we have been taking Dudley (the basset hound) and going for walks. We can avoid anyone and getting out in the fresh air is stress breaking. Have been cleaning the shop and doing some updates. Cal, HARO50, Harry Brink and 4 others
Popular Post Gene Howe
Took advantage of the grocery store's senior hour and went shopping. 06:00 is a bit early for me, though. Was able to get everything on the list except bananas. Not surprising. Even in normal times, they're often out of bananas. stopped at Ace and got a gallon of DNA to fill some spray bottles. We'll keep one in each vehicle. The rest of the weekend will be spent packing up the shop. Boxing smalls, now. Saving the machine for later. Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr
Trying to build a new stand for my assembly table. Not wanting to go get the plywood I would normally use, so I'm disassembling a few things to salvage the wood for the 2 cabinets and drawers the new table will sit on. Gunny had mentioned Glide right drawer slides and I had ordered some of them last week. I would normally use KV 8400s for this, but the slides came and I do think they will do just fine. For the more mundane tasks, we have a machine shed (around here the farmers call a pole barn with a gravel floor a "machine shed".....and that's exactly what this is; covered parking) and I want to put a piece of pegboard up in there to hang some of the stuff. So that's on the list. Larry Buskirk, Cal, HandyDan and 5 others

Popular Post HandyDan
Have been working a project at the metal lathes. It will be added to a woodturning project in due time. Decided the metal lathe area need some organizing and cleaning so I've been at that for awhile. Problem is that I find too many "distractions" and end up spending unintended time with those which is more fun than cleaning/organizing. I am going to do the same to the wood shop next. I miss visiting with my close friends. Yesterday was warm and I spent and hour sitting in the backyard talking with a neighbor. Was the first face to face contact I've had in weeks and we still sat on chairs eight feet from each other. I guess once the weather cooperates more of these visits can take place. Always something to do. HARO50, p_toad, Gunny and 5 others
Popular Post Gerald
Working on finishing drawer install and setup to clear some stuff off my workbench areas. Hope to get that done and get back on the lathe next week. Have a virtual meeting with the woodturners club tomorrow. Gonna have to retire again life is getting too hectic. Fred W. Popular Post p_toad
Took the lawn tractor out for a walk yesterday down the drive to make sure it starts and the battery and gas seem to be ok after sitting all winter. talked with both of my neighbors today and they're doing ok (for the most part). everyone just sticking close to home. was surprised the other day that Aldi's had some nice green bananas, but the red raspberries were looking a bit long in the tooth. they actually had TP on the shelf and i let some guy in front of me at the line to he could check out his treasure. lew, HARO50, steven newman and 5 others 7

Popular Post Charles Nicholls
Hi gang it’s been a while but with all that’s going on, I thought I’d check in. I’ve Got some aromatherapy necklaces to get done, as well as some bottle stoppers and several pens. This os a repurposed piece so that’s why it looks odd here, but it’s going to be one of the aromatherapy necklaces when I’m done. Mesquite about 1-1/8 long Hey Charles, please show us one of your aromatherapy necklaces. I really do not know what that is, but sounds interesting. From what I can tell, my life is "pretty normal" right now. Working on various outside projects, doing some maintenance and such on the vehicle fleet. It is unusual to have SWMBO home all week... All that is not entirely true We do have two young ones. A daughter that lives in Atlanta, and Atlanta is on "shelter in place" orders. And a son that works for The Ohio State University at the medical college. Although he (and his SO) are not on the front lines and are working from home. The wife and I also have a lot of family in New York state, thankfully they are all scattered around upstate and none of them close to NYC. If I stay busy and concentrating on the project at hand I am not actively worrying about everyone... Popular Post Gene Howe
While stationed in Puerto Rico, I got hooked on Bacardi 151 Cuba Libres. Quite tastey. The buzz comes quick, though. In AZ, 151 is hard to find. That's probably a good thing, too. It's strange though, since Everclear 190 proof is so readily available.
