Looking like a real nor-easter headed our way, starting Monday afternoon. Forecast is for 10"-16" of snow with wind gusts to 55-60 mph. Expecting moderate flooding along the coast.

We start at 25º, this morning and don't move all that much today (or tomorrow, either). A fair amount of the snow we got yesterday melted, and though it started out as a dry snow you could clear, by noon it was the wet slush that defies being plowed. Anyway, we may see flurries most of the day, but not much accumulation. Tomorrow will be cold, but the sun is supposed to return. I was watching the national news story about the storm last night. Started out "100 million people impacted by storm". Then the entire rest of the story was about NYC.

9:05AM 23° glad we got that mess cleaned up yesterday. The "Stuff" is now icebergs.

It's frozen solid enough I can walk on top of it.

Got a few inches of the white stuff out there this morning.  Low 30s today and may see a few more inches before it is done.

Went out this morning and shoveled the sidewalks so the meter guy could walk through the snow in the yard. Maybe 3" of the light stuff. All in all I think we dodged the bullet.

Weather reports for @Al B & @Artie don't look very promising.

I am convinced that our local weather forecasters just delight in panicking everyone.   Last evening, the lead-off to the news (for 10 minutes) was the impending snow.   OMG, 1-3" possible.  True to tradition, Cincinnatians panic and make a run for milk, bread, and eggs.   What I call "French toast Armageddon"   Here is what we had mid-morning on Sunday.   Not like it's a rush hour work day or anything.  Most of the rest of the day in the mid-30s.

I don't know if you remember a meterologist in Cincy back in the late 70s named Tony Sands. Anyway, Tony made a winter prediction that went something like "this will be the worst winter Cincinnati has ever seen. Heavier snow, more wind, and colder temperatures than we ever get.

 

A few weeks later he was hawking Jeeps for one of the local car dealers. Those ads carried a written transcript of his prediction.

The prediction is for 10-16 inches, got maybe 2 inches right now. We’ll see what’s there in the morning. Al is a coastal town, may be some coastal flooding, less snow, but heavier.

It's 10:15 Pm and we already have a solid 8" on the ground, really snowing hard. Had to shovel the deck off so the storm door wouldn't get blocked.

You guys in the NE are really getting hammered, hope things don't get worse. We are still getting flurries and drifts making things a PITA. This morning we have 17º with a breeze that makes the WC in single digits. Our little dog is really struggling to do here business outside...all the "perfect" places seem to be covered with snow, so it's a long search for her to find that spot. since she's a small dog, it doesn't take much snow to be up to here knees. We get sunshine today, but no warmth....we are making up for the mild winter we've had up till now.

5:45 AM 21° WC 11° headed for 34° supposed to be clear and sunny. We shall see.
