Popular Post lew
Another Wednesday rolls around! Our Patriot Turners- @Pauley Has been busy creating some fantastic items! Please check out his post and see some more of his turnings and how he created some of the effects- @Ron Altier finished up a beautiful spalted ornament- Ron gives us an explanation of what he did and some of the problems he overcame in this one- @Woodbutcherbynight posted a little turning he did- Sometimes the simplest things can be anything but easy! Here's his post- @Ron Altier also shared a video he found on making a natural edge bowl. He received lots of comments about the process! What’s Coming Up- Click on the image for the link to the webpage. For The Newbies- Is the piece of stock you are turning completely round? How do you check yours? You can turn the lathe off and inspect the piece or you can feel and listen- Expand Your Horizons- @Ron Altier showed us the video of one way to turn a natural edge bowl. Rick Turns posted a new video demonstrating a different method and then creates beautiful embellishments with copper leaf- New Turning Items- Craft Supplies USA has a new item aimed at the turners who make rings. Their device helps the turner make extremely accurately sized holes- Everything Else- I am asking for some input on this weekly post. The format has been about the same since we started and I am wondering if you all are satisfied with what you read/see. Am I missing something important? Is there something you would like to have added/removed. Am I covering enough material/too much. Please let me know what you think. FlGatorwood
Lew, I appreciate your weekly posts and I don't see any need for change. It is always nice to see all the turners newest projects in the post in addition to teaching us new ideas. Thank you for your hard work. Gunny
I was inspired to get back and try new stuff because of this weekly post. As others have said it is fine as is. Perhaps we as turners (I use this term loosely for myself) can post more of our work. While I have gotten better at doing PIP I do not post all my work. HandyDan
Got a chance to watch the Craft Supplies USA ring boring video. The boring head would have other uses and can go to larger diameters too. I checked around and their price seems very competitive. Probably, a person who turns really should have their blinkers on. I was riding with a customer to pick up his other car today and he got pulled over and given a ticket for failing to use signal, and running a stop sign, and finally speeding 45 in a 25 school zone. Yeah he was not so happy. Crappy part? I warned him I had seen police cars in that area yesterday when I was on a test drive. He told me, don't side seat drive. Popular Post Gunny
Just did some internet shopping on EWT. They have everything. So I filled up my cart. It was the grand total of $3325 that brought that shopping spree to a halt. I forgot I am on a diet low-fat beer budget. On a serious note for those who don't know @Jim from Easy Wood Tools can be reached and will gladly take your order.
