Popular Post DuckSoup
The LOML has to work both Christmas eve & day so we will be celebrating Christmas this coming Saturday. All the kids will be in town Friday night. Right now the breadboard is out and that's my signal to say out of the way, offer to run for any forgotten items & to provide dinner for the next three days. The best part of Christmas, the smell of her baking. I'll step in on Thursday & Friday, while she is at work, and prep the meats and pasta that will be Saturdays dinner. Everyone heads back home on Sunday and that's when the cat comes out of hiding. Always a fun time! FlGatorwood, HARO50, Fred W. Popular Post lew
Finished up a present for my Mom. She's in an assisted living complex and is trying to get adjusted to the new routine of having nurses and helpers. She is extremely independent. Having buried two husbands and one child will do that to a person. Like me, she wears hearing aids- but she is completely deaf without them. She used to have a special place to set her hearing aids and keep them organized overnight (left and right). To help her keep things straight, I made a small partitioned box and covered the inside bottom with white PSA felt to make the contents more visible. I added filleted pieces to assist in retrieving any errant batteries. Made from 1/4" thick red oak. Stained dark, Satin wipe-on poly. Black PSA felt on bottom to protect furniture Cal, Fred W. Thanks for that link. Sounds like my mother, "Don't use those dish towels, they are for show." Response one should never use: "Okay Mom, I will show people how to wipe my hands off with them." Cal
I have gotten very little done. I had spent Friday milling some oak for a group of picture frames. Stopped early as company was coming for supper and when I stepped into the shower - BAM - the sciatic nerve on my right side kicked me in the butt. I have been hobbling around since then I did get a mirror sandblasted yesterday and began the paint schedule - this is a Christmas gift requested last week and fortunately I had already told them I couldn't get a frame done for them in time so they ordered one from Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I am not one for much sitting around, this is getting old... HARO50, p_toad and lew

Agreed! My Monday wasn't nearly as productive. Spent most of the day at the computer, trying to get two graphics programs to play nice with each other. It's like herding cats. Today will be better! Finally decided to use the propane weed burner to get rid of the piles of tumble weeds. Nothing survives the breath of the dragon! By noon, they'll be history. Then, back to herding cats. p_toad, Gerald, Harry Brink and 3 others

HARO50
Monday... took my son for the second of five radiation treatments to nuke a 2" tumor in his left lung. Went MUCH better than the first one! On the way home, we stopped to pick up a small Christmas tree. It will be the first in their new house (IF he can get it in there!). By that evening, a scratchy throat had turned into a full-blown cold, and I could barely drag myself out of bed. Feeling a LITTLE better now, so maybe back to normal tomorrow.
