Turning a tulip !

I’m waiting to hear what the wife wants. Glossy or satin. Right now it has the first coat on of highly diluted danish oil for penetration. I need fairly deep penetration on the lip because it is pretty thin. I’m expecting her to want high gloss so I will use a mixture of shelac, linseed oil and alcohol ( shine juice ).

The third turning is done. The next part is building the platters that go on top of the turnings. That is what the decanters will actually sit on. I picked up the maple for the platters today and found another stick of Canarywood in the rack. I am slowly building a stash of it for a future project.
