Popular Post Ron Dudelston
Last Saturday we did a show near here. The weather was perfect and ladies came ready to buy. We also took orders for a specialty cutting board, a walnut tray, a cremains box (a dog), a very large waffle trivet and a small cabinet. Needless to say, it’s bee busy this week. Unfortunately, I have to be a pallbearer for a friend today but we’re going junkin’ tomorrow.’ So, whats on your weekend agenda? Popular Post DuckSoup
Youngest daughter is to be married one week from tomorrow. This past week was final fittings on all the dresses, I hid in the shop. Tomorrow morning the cookie club has their final coffee meeting and then they start making the dough for the cookies, I'll hide till I'm summoned. Something or someone always has to be picked up. Today I'm heading to a local church to pick up 6 dozen pierogi, this insures my safety due to me asking "what's for dinner" anytime between now and Wednesday evening. I can pan fry these on a hot plate in the shop, where I'll be hiding. Fred W. Hargis Jr, p_toad, John Morris and 5 others 3
Popular Post CharlieL
I bought a grab bag of rusty tools, I sand blasted them, now I feel like working on the old bench top Eastwood blast cabinet. Clean the window, and look for and add a light to the inside. Popular Post Gene Howe
You have my sympathies, Bob. Although, it sounds like your escape plans are working. Luckily, we had boys. We got back yesterday from a really nice trip along the San Juan Skyway in CO. Four days of sight seeing, antique shopping and mountain driving has wore this old man to a frazzle. But, it was a great way to celebrate Phyl's 71st birthday. Today, she's going to town to restock the larder. I'm sure I can find something to do in the shop. Monday, the guy that we contracted will be out to install the mini split heat pumps after several equipment procurement delays. It's really cooled off so AC isn't a problem anymore. But, we'll be welcoming the heating soon. p_toad, Gunny, Cal and 4 others
Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr
Local car show is today and tomorrow, contemplating going today but the summer weather may just keep me home. In the shop I've got the sharpening grinder set up to do some sharpening; already got to some of the kitchen knives. They brought on the need to do this, so they went first. Popular Post kmealy
Opening night of Matilda show is tonight. All the sets are ready. Director said the set was "minimal" Yikes. I went to a touring Broadway show Tuesday and the set consisted of a back wall with two doors, 12 salvaged chairs that didn't match, two tables and a few "trees" to hide the musicians and provide some spot lighting. Everything on casters that cannot be picked up and carried. But your display is wonderful, and I take it that is one of your grands sitting there? I was released from the hospital yesterday, again, second time in since June. Monday doc called me while I was in the field and told me my platelets dropped to 6000, that is considered danger zone hemorrhaging just for sneezing or taking a hit from something, I am working around heavy equipment all day in my Land Surveying profession, so injury is always at the top of our heads. He told me to check in to ER and get transfused. So around noon I left my partner at the jobsite to continue work, I drove a second work truck straight home to where my wife drove me to ER, checked in, they kept me till yesterday, loss work, no vacation or sck hours left, ouch, that one is going to hurt, we'll survive. A couple bags of IG (Immuno Gobulin) and platelets later, my numbers shot up to 93,000 well up into the safe zone but still below the 140,000 normal minimum, got discharged with a new prescription of prednisone (YUCK!) jittery all day, insomnia, yuck yuck yuck, but my numbers are going up, I can feel it, so I'll stay on it for awhile and see if we can get this all stabilized. This time around in the klink, I felt pretty good about it all though, I didn't have the crazy thoughts swirling in my head, am I going to live, do I have the big "C" or not, blood cancer what not, I am more comfortable with my condition now, and taking it all in stride, I'll be back at work Monday. Then Tuesday we head on down to San Diego MEPS where our daughter will swear in to the US ARMY and we'll be there standing tall and proud with her! Then she ships out to Fort Jackson the next day to begin in processing then off to Basic, we are so excited for her. This last week was not what I had in mind, I had planned to be with my daughter every day after work, to just hold her tight and be with her till she leaves us, but the almighty had a different route for me to take, but I'll get to enjoy her today, tomorrow, and Sunday. I'd also like to reach out to @BillyJack and pray and send him positive vibes for the health challenges he is experiencing now, kidney disease and dialysis can't be fun folks, and I am sure the thoughts going around in his head may not be the best, here's to lifting you up sir in prayer, may God look over you and give you comfort. Today our son is having a gang of his friends over for his birthday party, we are getting ready for that now. Cheers all, and have a wonderful weekend, and enjoy each and every day as if it were your last! It was enjoyable. And I did not know that Quenton Tarantino had ever been in films. We just went to see "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" - I enjoyed it very much. Then I read an article about the cars and locations used in the movie, so I would like to see it again to "connect the dots" so to speak. 23 hours ago, DuckSoup said: Youngest daughter is to be married one week from tomorrow.
