Charcoal that I normally grill with, 2 bags for $10 when they have a sale. Nothing special, your car or truck uses same stuff to recover fuel vapors. It's kind of difficult to see what's happening when there is a cloud of charcoal dust hovering over the pile. I started with a rubber mallet, then used a baby sledge, and finally a wood splitting maul. I'll eventually get it right.....or just buy the activated ready to go stuff. p_toad and Cal

I have a Delta dust collector with a thien garbage can pre-separator....uses a 4" hose. I use this with my table saw and miter saws. I usually just use the shop vacuum on my router table, jig saw, and biscuit joiner. I don't let either one get too full. I made several 5 gal separators for the small machines that I use a shop vac with. Edited April 30, 2019 by CharlieL Cal
