You all are starting to make me glad I’m allergic to the stuff.

Never heard of anyone allergic the coffee, don't like the taste maybe, but allergic is new one.

Gene, I slept till 8:00Am but did get up @5:00.

I had my 2nd Shingles Shot Sat. and my arm is still sore and tired feeling all over, I took 3 naps yesterday, better today, might even check things in the shop today.

time to upgrade that Mk II..

it ain't free..

but...

Veritas® Honing Guide Mk.XXXXII

The key to consistent and fast honing is repeatability — and our Mk.II (2) honing guide delivers that and more in spades. It will set bevel angles from 15° to 54° and a range of back bevels from 10° to 20°. As much as the Mk.II (2) was an advancement over our classic Mk.I (1), the Mk.XXXXII (42) is at least XXI (21) times better than the Mk.II (2).

The Mk.XXXXII (42) projection jig slides onto the guide body, centering and squaring the blade with an integral fence. The blade stop has four discrete positions for preset bevel angles; micro-bevels are honed by rotating the adjustable eccentric axle to change wheel height.

For use with standard tools such as chisels and plane blades, the Mk.XXXXII (42) honing guide is completely compatible with the Mk.II (2) projection jig. Once you've lapped your chisels and blades to a common thickness (a trivial one-time exercise), you’ll be easily able to set and lap several blades simultaneously — something that just can't be done with those other wimpy jigs.

In addition to expanding the clamping capacity to a generous 13-1/2" (to accommodate 12" wide blades), we’ve developed an entirely new fixture to securely hold planer blades for sharpening. Loosely based on the Veritas® Small-Blade Holder (05P32.03), the Veritas® Planer-Blade Holder uses a reverse bevel stop block to simultaneously register the blade while preventing it from rotating during use.

Three pairs of inset 1/2" rare-earth magnets provide 54 lb of holding force, and are spaced such that planer blades as small as 6" long can be held securely.

Product weight is 6.3 lb. Made from die-cast zinc-aluminum alloy, with brass fittings and a turned steel axle. Patent pending. 14" bench stones available in-store only.

So why call it the Mk.XXXXII? Well — we put a lot of deep thought into the design, and what else could we call a jig that's clearly the shop equivalent of the Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything…

Now I haven’t had a coffee since sometime in 1982, I love the taste, but I wind up curled in a ball, and well.....just think of the scene in The Exorcist, with the projectile vomiting. So maybe after 37 years things have changed.....I’m not willing to find out LOLOL.
