Popular Post John Morris
Good Monday Morning! Good Monday morning Patriot Woodworkers! What did you get done over the weekend, and what have you planned for the week ahead! Inquiring minds want to know. Please tell us what's happening in your shops, your life, and any events going on with you. Thank you for being here folks! This past Saturday my wife loaded me up into our car and we drove to a surprise location, the Sam Maloof residence and work shop tour. We had our anniversary on March 2nd, 28 wonderful years of marriage, I gave her my gift, and her gift had to wait as it was raining really hard and part of the tour was outside. So she and the kids kept a secret for another whole week and we went this past Saturday. I had no idea where we were going till we virtually pulled up on the compound. What a cool anniversary gift! We could not take pictures inside the residence, there was much artwork and frankly to have a tour with a bunch of cameras pointing all over the place would have taken away from the experience, so I thank the foundation for that rule. But we could take pictures in other areas of the compound, and here are a just a few in my gallery of the tour. I'll have more images once I get my wife's camera downloaded too. The first examples, tusked joints, were found in a well near Leipzig - the world's oldest intact wooden architecture. It has also been found joining the wooden planks of the "Khufu ship", a 43.6 m long vessel sealed into a pit in the Giza pyramid complex of the Fourth Dynasty around 2500 BC. The oldest known use dates from the Early Neolithic Linear Pottery culture, where it was used in the constructing of the wooden lining of water wells. Read more... Popular Post Ron Dudelston
Congrats John! In today’s world of disposable marriages, you should be proud. My weekend was pretty mundane and the only major accomplishment was to cut a kitchen cabinet in half for a local Elks lodge. Hopefully, I can near completion on a bed I’ve been building this week but the election season is ramping up here in Indiana and my election board duties are calling. Lately it's been getting warmer at night than during the day. Forecast for tomorrow has us in the mid 40° range. @John Morris Congrats on making 28. Cal and never been, always wanted to, but it just seemed priorities popped up. My wife set all priorities aside and the kids, and said the heck with it, my hubby's gonna see this!!!! You know, me wife was as interested as I, so she didn't feel neglected at all, she thought it was all just facinating. I was amazed equally with the wonderful art collection the Maloof's amassed. I love Native American, and so did they. Thanks Cal FlGatorwood, Gunny, HARO50 and 3 others
