hatuffej
The chicks in both nests are growing bigger and turning darker as their pin feathers come in. Dad was pumping fish into them this AM! Link to comment

Not being a bird enthusiast, other than I love them and love their presence on this world, how can you tell if it's dad or mama? And who sits on the next in the society of Eagles, mama or dad? hatuffej
Mama is larger than Dad but they have to be together to see that difference. They seem to share nest building, maintenance, sitting, feeding, and hunting duties. Dad has more prominent black circles around his eyes while Mom has a hint of eye shadow and more of a brow. I think the corner of Dad's mouth comes farther back than Mom's. The site has a brief explanation of how to tell them apart. Link to comment
hatuffej
The chicks are morphing into teeneagles now, staggering around and flapping their wings. Serious flight preps should start soon. Link to comment
John Morris
I was watching them lastnight Hat, mama was on a branch cleaning herself, while the two teens were sprawled across the nest sleeping, typical teens! Link to comment

hatuffej
The teeneagles are big, 90% of adult weight, and should start flight training anytime. One, two, flap, flap Three, four, flap, flap Way up high, flap, flap In the sky, flap, flap What? How do I land? Link to comment
hatuffej
The two teeneagles have left the nest. One apparently was blown off the skywalk branch while the other just went for it. The parents will tend to them where they happen to be. Link to comment

One of the teeneagles was found and taken to a bird rehab center with no apparent injuries. The other one is somewhere nearby. The teeneagle in the north nest also fell/flew off. Link to comment
