Popular Post Allen Worsham
Much to contrary belief, I am still alive and working in the garage/shop since we moved from So. California back in October to Bowling Green, KY. We have had so much going on with getting our house in order as well as getting hooked up with a great church in town. https://livehopeful.com/ We have been getting involved in church life and they have just built and opened a new "Pregnancy Center" on site for expectant moms who are looking to choose life for their baby over abortion. My wife has been volunteering a couple of days per week and I have been busy picking up things for them and helping with some repairs. With all the cold weather in the garage, I was having trouble getting stuff done because it was so cold. With all the metal hardware in my spine the cold really messes me up. So after talking with Ron Dudelston on the phone, he suggested that I insulate the metal roll up 2-car garage door. So I went to Home Depot and picked up styrofoam panels and used construction adhesive and metal duct tape and installed 1.5" worth of foam. Insulating the door made it about 15-20 degrees warmer which made my life much easier. So I have been able to get started on building storage over the garage door. Got a bunch of 2x4's and long lag bolts to screw it all into the studs for storage of lighter weight stuff like Christmas stuff and other more lighter stuff so I can clear out the floor space in the garage for putting up some metal garage shelves so that I can start digging out my power tools and such. Today I should be able to get the 2 metal shelving units put together.......hopefully. Tomorrow Tami and I will be dropping off the Schnauzer at a "Doggy Day Care" in town overnight and head to Nashville for the day and then go to the "Switchfoot Concert". We got a hotel there for the night after the show. We have a couple of neighbors that will keep an eye on the house while we are gone. We are soooooooo looking forward to getting away. Grandpadave52
Great to hear you're getting settled in to the lower Midwest Allen. While I dislike the cold & snow more each year, I wouldn't trade it for a week on the "left coast." Getting connected with a good "church family" is a blessing. Kudos for your support and work with the Pregnancy Center. We've supported our local "independent" Women's Resource Center Ministry for a number of years. Enjoy your time in Nashville. I have many fond memories of living there although faded somewhat after 47 years. It's been a few years since we (I) last visited there too. RustyFN
Culture shock. I know it well. I moved from SF Bay Area to West Virginia in 1996. No regrets. Grandpadave52
John Moody
Well we will have to get together at some point in Nashville. Beth and I were there a couple weeks ago to shoot in a Glock pistol match at Nashville Armory. It’s about a two hour drive for us.
