Popular Post Stick486 Posted January 14, 2019 Popular Post Report Share Posted January 14, 2019 (edited) This picture.. get yourself a ZC plate.. lower the toe of the miter to the table.. lower the guides to the table and let then serve as sacrificials to control tear out and splintering... no sense asking for a blow or tear out... make the steadies adjustable to comp for rectangles, rounds, ovals, squares and polygons to maintain the center axis of what you are slotting... make lower hold down a pivot in the steady.. cut a slot in the steady for the upper hold down.. Parallel T track set into a slot in the face is a great fix for that.. use T bolts and lock down knobs.. you do real that the center axis of the door is a skosh off... You can get them at Hobby Lobby back in the picture frame dept. I want to make a couple of simple Crosses. 3/4 cherry, take 3/8 off back of front piece, and 3/8 of an inch off the front of the back piece. Mate them up, and glue them. I hope this description accurately portrays what I’m thinking of. My question is, will wood movement make doing this a bad idea? Thank you for any advice, thoughts, comments.
