Glenn Halfpap
This Delta No. 318 8in. Circular Saw "Tilty" & 4" joiner combo is another gem from grandpa. I've not run across modern day photo's of this but I've only recently began to look. I found the catalog where this appears. Delta Quality Tools Catalogue G - Oct. 1 1930 - thanks to vintagemachinery.org/pubs/detail.aspx?id=3205 The 4" Craftsman joiner almost looks like the Delta. Maybe a Craftsman guard was used to replace the original? More research is needed here. This is another well kept item and runs pretty well although it could use a little more torque so the deeper cuts don't stall. I'm sure I'll wish I had as much power when I'm as old as it is. Grandpadave52
Wow Glenn...another pristine piece of history. I'm pretty sure @Larry Buskirk and @John Moody both have "tiltys" like or very similar to yours. I think John also has the joiner attachment on the original stand. Both should be able to assist with your questions and or provide suggestions. I've seen a couple listed on CL over the past few years in the Indy area, but nothing near as nice as yours. Appears the only upgrade has been the link belt, blade and maybe the motor? I can't say I've ever seen one with the motor cover though. Glad you're here and posting these treasures. "Spices up" the place. Looking forward to see where you go with this one. John Moody, Cal and Glenn Halfpap
Larry Buskirk
Glenn, Very nice first edition stand alone "Tilty" 8" table saw. The jointer looks to be Delta as well. Could you provide a front view photo? (from the stand side) I've got the 1160 10" "Tilty" along with the 654 6" jointer. John Moody
Very nice find. I have the Delta Tilt top saw and joiner on one stand. I think mine is newer than yours. Mine is a ‘40’s model. Thanks for sharing and preserving. Cal, Glenn Halfpap and Grandpadave52 1

GerryinBelleRiver
That is a great inheritence. I am sure it will bring back memories of your gandpa everytime you use it. I have a couple of the later model 8" inch Deltas and a 10" tilty in my rat hole. Really need to get at them Grandpadave52, p_toad and Glenn Halfpap

Grandpadave52
Sweet! Just an observation, I don't see a jointer attached to the new kid on the block. Of course it's not official until we see some sawdust on it. Cal

A jointer combination is not in the plans but I’m thinking about moving my router table to the wing.
