Have some bodies and wing sets done. The finished one in the front is what they will look like. Lew, the halos are sold as halos at the craft stores in the jewelry section. They are 23mm halos. My first batch years ago I used a cap with them and glued the two together. I turn them starting with a 1 3/4" X 6" blank. Turn it round and then turn as many wings of of it as I can get. I turn a dish in the end and then use a parting tool to cut a groove and leave a stub and turn the concave part of the wing as I am doing so. Mine ar small so I can't use a spindle sander so I use a scroll saw and a file for the wing notches. Rick Hutcheson's video was the inspiration. Click on "Free Woodturning Videos".
