Assuagement complete. Forums+i.e.general woodworking+tips. You are brilliantly correct. A thousand thank yous. It's exactly what I was talking about. Took me long enough to comprehend it, though. It's rare that I find this much enlightenment in two days. Now, I'll shut up about it.

Gene, if I can ever be a source of frustration for you, just let me know, I am here most days and I do it free of charge!

I wish our search engine would return results with any part of the word, so if you do enter "burnish" in the search, then a return of something of like this would appear, "burnishing". That would be the bees knees, but our search engine is not there yet.

So the search engine can't use burnis*  like some engines do and use the * to allow anything to follow?

I don't think so Tom, we either have a "And" "Or" search function here.

So what we are seeing is that Turning and woodturners would not show on a tag search as the same category. Nor would sharpening and sharp. I have discovered that a search will show different endings if you search for the root word. For example Turn brings up turners and turning. Sharp will bring up sharpening and sharp.

The conclusion is the search will find both the root words and the additions to them "ing" , "ed", "s", "ed" and so forth

That's right Gerald, tags are not included in searches.

Tags are now required, we'll see how this goes on an experimental basis, and feedback from members of this community.

Thank you all for your help and participation!

So I just discovered that we need 2 tags. I understand the need for tags and can see their usefulness. But requiring 2 seems to be a little over the top. My question on peach wood (Turners) is fairly simple. hard to understand the need for 2 tags on it. Not complaining, just saying... (Ok, maybe it's a small complaint ).

Who We Are

Operation Ward 57 Challenge Coin Display Project

We are a woodworking community with an emphasis on sharing and learning the skilled craft of woodworking and all of its related disciplines. Our community is open to everyone who wishes to join us. We support our American veterans and active duty, being a veteran is not a prerequisite to join. Join us now!

Objective

Air Force Command Center Plaque

Of course just like most online woodworking communities we are centralized in the arts, crafts, and trades that are woodworking. But, we have another focus in our Patriot Woodworker community, we are the only woodworking community that was founded on our care and concern for our disabled veterans.

Volunteer

Patriot Woodworker Volunteers

The Patriot Woodworkers are an all volunteer community, from the staff and hosts who run our online woodworking community to the members who frequent our forums, you'll find volunteers in all of us. We are not on a payroll, unless you consider the spiritual rewards gained from volunteering, as compensation.

Education

Logging

One of the many projects we are working on is a wiki for our online community. A wiki is a great way for woodworkers and enthusiasts to share their knowledge to others, and to impart their knowledge for others to learn from, and utilize as well for their own benefit. We hope you'll consider being a wiki contributor.
