After a couple of incidents when trying to rip with the  RAS, I sold mine and have never looked back . Don't miss it at all.. They are an accident waiting to happen!:excl:

I have a table saw for ripping, I just use the RAS for crosscutting. It is no different than any power tool, infact In the 45 years I was around these tools, the table saw takes the blue ribbon for accidents, next to the hammer.

even before they had these power tools , the hand saw claimed a few fingers.

next to the hammer.

Reminds me of a story one of my farm equipment customers years ago (Kenny) used to tell about a guy he helped doing roofing...hadn't thought about this in years.:)

They were replacing shingles on a barn when the roofer smacked his thumb pretty hard with the hammer:wub:...apparently it aggravated him so much, he took the hammer and a gave a mighty blow to the other thumb, stood up and hurled the hammer as far as he possibly could out into the pasture.

By the time he got down off the roof and retrieved his hammer both thumb nails were pretty black Kenny said. The roofer decided they would call it a day at that point. Kenny used to laugh so hard telling this story he always had to stop and wipe his eyes...

I have one for which I applied for the 100$ deal----used the guard parts I received to upgrade the original. I use this for only 90 degree cuts------learned to fine tune 90 degrees by adjusting the fence. Use this saw almost every day and would hate to have to part with it-----works for me.

Who We Are

Operation Ward 57 Challenge Coin Display Project

We are a woodworking community with an emphasis on sharing and learning the skilled craft of woodworking and all of its related disciplines. Our community is open to everyone who wishes to join us. We support our American veterans and active duty, being a veteran is not a prerequisite to join. Join us now!

Objective

Air Force Command Center Plaque

Of course just like most online woodworking communities we are centralized in the arts, crafts, and trades that are woodworking. But, we have another focus in our Patriot Woodworker community, we are the only woodworking community that was founded on our care and concern for our disabled veterans.

Volunteer

Patriot Woodworker Volunteers

The Patriot Woodworkers are an all volunteer community, from the staff and hosts who run our online woodworking community to the members who frequent our forums, you'll find volunteers in all of us. We are not on a payroll, unless you consider the spiritual rewards gained from volunteering, as compensation.

Education

Logging

One of the many projects we are working on is a wiki for our online community. A wiki is a great way for woodworkers and enthusiasts to share their knowledge to others, and to impart their knowledge for others to learn from, and utilize as well for their own benefit. We hope you'll consider being a wiki contributor.
