Popular Post John Moody
I got the tops cut off the shadow boxes and at the glass dealer to install the glass in each top. Should get them back this afternoon and finish them up this weekend and ship them out Monday. Tonight I have a show to do and it will be outside. It has been in the 80's all week and today it is in the upper 50's and should be around the lower 50's by the end of the show. I guess we will run the heater and takes jackets tonight. I am hoping to actually get a little yard work done this weekend along with some shop time. Several projects to work on but right now, not sure which one will get drawn from the hat to get a little time. What is on your Patriot Woodworker agenda? We love to see all of your projects and here all about what you are working on. Post your Pictures and tell us all about you weekend plans. p_toad, lew, Chips N Dust and 2 others
kmealy
Got my package of honeybees installed Wednesday, just before the storms hit. They get nasty in nasty weather. In prep for upcoming weeks, I'm fixing up some more of the frames and boxes (aka woodenware) for adding on. Weather permitting, I'll get back in tomorrow to check on them, plant some trees in the back 40 and plant the strawberry plants that I've heeled in. Sunday get to go see the play that two grand-daughters are in that I've been helping with the set / props for the last few weeks. Popular Post Chips N Dust
I graduate from 2 crutches to 1 crutch later today. I will be practicing with 1 tomorrow so I won't break my neck. It took a little bit to want to put weight on the foot after going 6 weeks protecting it from any weight whatsoever. Maybe go out to the shop and say "Hi" too. Cal, Grandpadave52, p_toad and 2 others
Popular Post Grandpadave52
Spent most of today so far picking up a rental vehicle, meeting with Insurance folks and generally dealing with accident follow-up from Wednesday evening; an inattentive young driver attempted to park their Toyota Camry under the rear end of my F150 at ~35 mph. Ford Truck-(1), Camry (0)...No one was injured, but I'm still kinda sore and neck still is a little stiff. Waiting on his Insurance Company Adjuster to look at my truck. I'll post pictures once that occurs and more story down the road in case this goes to some form of litigation. He was cited on two charges. Did hit an antique mall today I haven't been to in some time...booth/ space rental must be premium priced since all items & especially tools were way overpriced. The remainder of the weekend will be a sticks & debris scavenger hunt for the grandkids while I get the L&G Equipment ready to roll; time to mow. Supposed to be in the 70's by Sunday afternoon after a forecast for frost tonight. p_toad, kmealy, Gerald and 2 others
Popular Post Gene Howe
No pictures....yet. hang on kelly. Got the gun case sides and ends all squared up this am. Took a break and polished up a couple try squares. Pulled the maple for the raised panel. Thank the Lord, it's fairly flat and S1E. Should have it ready by this evening.....maybe. Next week is dedicated to dadoing, routing and dry fitting. Possibly cutting the raised panel. The brother who'll get these cases wants one in Russian Olive. He emailed this morning that he has several 10', 4/4 planks that are over 12" wide. That must have been one huge olive tree. BTW he's in WY and cut the tree on his land. HandyDan
My brother had to work last Saturday so I look forward to seeing him tomorrow. Talked to him a little this week. Weather isn't the greatest so I will probably do something in the shop too. No real plans. p_toad, Chips N Dust, Cal and 1 other

Wow, Gene. l wonder if your RO is different from what we call it? Our russian olives are just straggly shrubs that grow sort of viney. Wonderfully fragrant, though as cold weather sets in - and has thorns. I think the real name is eleagnus... For my weekend, so far better than last week! Thankfully most all that bad weather went around us. We did get some serious thunderstorms and some rain. Followed by two days of wind. About like a normal day in Texas I reckon, but here those gusts spell trouble. My upstairs remodel project was going great. I trimmed out the new windows and then hit a snag while painting the ceiling. While the Zinsser BullsEye 2 stuck to the new sheetrock in the dormer, on the old drywall ceiling in the rest of the bedroom it did not stick at all. Worse on the joints and wherever there was old joint compound. I have spent several hours on the stepladder scraping and sanding the ceiling. Small test areas that I applied fresh mud to on Friday are still intact, so I hope to roll the texture this afternoon. On Saturday I took a break from it all, picked up my brother in law and went to a car show. Brought home a pretty cool best in class trophy, and had a brief visit with a former Commander in Chief. I am hoping that Sunday is as good as Saturday! Cal John Moody, Grandpadave52, LarryS and 2 others
Gene Howe
Cal, that's really neat. A great day you had. Hope the new mud took hold and the texturing goes smoothly. No pun intended. The RO around AZ can get pretty big. But the trunks are usually small with branches starting low. Un pruned, they're just huge bushes. Like you, I've not seen any that would yield the size of lumber my brother says he has. Edited April 9, 2017 by Gene Howe

Respectfully I wasn't all that fond of him as POTUS, but admire him for his deep service to Habitat for Humanity. Great to see he's out and about and has his cancer under remission too. I have toured his library a couple of times just the same. Nice to see the weather cooperating for you and hitting car shows already too. Congrats on "Best in Class." Those old Mopars are cool... Sorry to hear of the mud/paint quandary. Perplexing. Cal
