Popular Post Dadio
I have a small HF drill press that had a plastic collar to hold the depth stop. It was too flexible to be accurate, so I made a new one out of a piece of 1/4" thick aluminum. Larry Schweitzer
A nice addition would be to put a quick adjust nut on in place of the double nut system. I bought one for my milling machine. Quick and easy to adjust even over long changes in settings. Basically a half nut inside of a housing that allows it to be disengaged by pushing a button, then slide the nut to near the desired stop point and release the button. Turn like a regular nut the last fine adjust. They hold their location w/o a second nut. I just checked the thread on my mill, 1/2" -20tpi. So I know that size is readily available. Shars has something similar. Item 202-9530 "Quick quill stop", for $4.50, The Bolt Depot has 3' of 1/2x 20tpi all thread for $4.21 item # 23617. All are + shipping but you can probably find them locally in any major city. Well worth getting given the savings in time & frustration with the double nut system. Can be adapted for making jigs and the like also. HARO50 and Dadio 1
