He could have filled the box and set it out for the garbage.  I saw a story where they were filling a snow melter at an airport.  Didn't know there was such a thing.

Who would have guessed that...30,000,000 BTU burner is quite impressive...but at 150-165/gph fuel #2 winter grade diesel consumption = $4k/8 hour day to operate. Wonder how they deal with the water after it freezes?

Still impressive technology..Hope I never have to see one operate around here.:P

They probably do it near a storm sewer and then throw a lot of salt on the wet spot.
