February 15- hope none of you are in the dog house after forgetting yesterday was Valentine's Day.

One of these days I'm going to get back to the lathe. Been subbing this week and still have a couple of more days next week, too.

We've had a busy week here at the Patriot with lots of turning related posts. Member Cliff posted a couple of items. First, he is turning a winged bowl. He posted a short video of his progress- http://thepatriotwoodworker.com/topic/19116-wingbowl/. He also built himself a gigundous negative rake scraper- http://thepatriotwoodworker.com/topic/19152-i-was-looking-at-a-large-neg-rake-scraper/. If you haven't seen what he has done, check'em out!

Ron Altier purchased a new set of chatter tools from Amazon. Looking forward to seeing how well they work. Here's the link he posted- https://www.amazon.com/Peachtree-Woodworking-P7305-Browns-Chatter/dp/B00J9SO1AE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486830281&sr=8-1&keywords=chatter+tool

Member HandyDan posted images of his TINY turnings-

Today, Steve, started an interesting post about starting down the road to turning with a really inexpensive lathe. What do you think? Get involved with the conversation at- http://thepatriotwoodworker.com/topic/19161-a-new-turner-long-winded/

I received an email yesterday from Cook Woods. They have some beautiful Claro Walnut turning blanks- http://www.cookwoods.com/wood-by-species/walnut-claro.

A new video from Carl Jacobson and our generous sponsor- Easy Wood Tools- on making a lidded box.
