steven newman
Cleared the decks.. Nothing going on, anyway. An empty bench, sad to see.....cleaned the tool well out.. Like a Ghost Town..( might ask gene about all of this...)

steven newman
Still cleaned off. Added a bit of scrap wood to the outside of the tool well. Two "racks" were added. Old tool chest chisel rack, and a holder for squares.....nothing real fancy.. Glued and screwed in place. Will hold the chisels I use all the time, and most of the squares. Slots to hold the squares were formed by adding small strips of scrapwood. Used the LARGE brace & Bit to open up the dog holes better. Added a spot to use a dog as a rest, for when I use the leg vise Instead of a clamp, and those clamp marks. Have an old Railroad spike, too. Insert with the "lip" up, hole is just tight enough to hold it in place, too. Maybe someday, if I ever get my motivation back, I might just put this to use...Some would say that all of my projects done on this bench, would never amount to Fine Furniture.... Cliff
now I'd like to know how you used a brace and bit to open holes up. Did ya plug 'em first to let the bit feed screw guide it? steven newman
steven newman
Bit was just a hair bigger than the hole. More of just my weight on the brace, than relying on the lead screw. Brace was a 12" Samson brace by P.S.&W. Bit was a 3/4" size.
