  1. Looks like we survived until another Friday folks. It's been one of those weeks here "Two Weeks from Anywhere" with if it could go wrong, it did. 1) Monday, Furball took out Windows 11 computer. Haven't had time to figure it out. Had some fun helping cousin assemble an order for 53 computers, he's setting them up today with a Wi-Fi 6E Mesh system. 2) Tuesday, Spent part of day getting wifes old Windows 10 computer running again with salvaged parts from "Curb Shopping" find. Stepson hit a Racoon and took out radiator on his 08 Cobalt, texted wife around Midnight. 3) Wednesday, Went "Curb Shopping with Bruce just to get away from getting "Volunteered" for another of their car fixes. (Was pick day of the week.) Shoulder's still sore from having to go "Caveman" on their Equinox to replace hub bearings. 4)Thursday, Informed Stepson and his wife " You're on your own this time" which didn't go over well, my wife finally shut off her phone so she wouldn't have to listen to the DIL about it after informing them it's $217.99 for replacement radiator, and the fact that "They're on their own this time." 5) Friday, Expecting a repeat of Thursday. I think I'll go into hiding for the weekend. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  2. Well, what do you know, we finally made it to Friday again folks! After three pretty much solid days of rain/snow/whatever here "Two Weeks from Anywhere" we might get a break until Sunday afternoon. I'll be making the wade next door once Bruce calls to help him unload his "Curb Shopping" finds. Also, may need to make a trip to the "Mad" city (Madison)next week to help my cousin assemble an order for fifty-two computers. Other than that, not much going on here. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  3. It's that time of the week again. In other words, It's Friday again folks! Here in the land of "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I've been trying to figure out what one of those "Windows Updates" did to cause this computer to have intermittent Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection issues. Just about the time I think I've got it figured out it starts acting up again. I've read where others using some Intel based Wi-Fi/Bluetooth cards with AMD CPU's are also experiencing the same issues. So, while I work on trying to figure this out, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  4. It was a rough week, but we made it to Friday folks! Still recovering from having to go "Caveman" removing a hub-bearing on the stepsons 08 Equinox here. I asked Bruce not to remove the plow on the Blazer until at least late April, he didn't listen so of course we're getting 3-6 inches of snow today. Not much else happening here "Two Weeks From Anywhere". What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  5. Friday again folks! Here in the land of "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I've been rather busy helping work on Bruce's JRV's (Junk Rescue Vehicles) getting them ready for the "Spring Curb Shopping Season" which starts a month early this year this coming Monday. I don't have a clue where he expects to put anything, everywhere is bulging at the seams. I also tried getting a little bit done on the Larkin sewing desk, which SWMBO has informed me she now wants it for what else, a "Sewing Desk". So, I guess that sends the computer desk build into another direction. Not to fear though, I've came up with another plan involving rack mount components salvaged from one of Bruce's "Curb Shopping" adventures. More on that later. So, until then What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  6. Well I'll be danged, it's Friday again Folks! Bruce, and I managed to get the plow installed on the Blazer earlier in the week. So of course, it looks like we're in for a most of the day here "Two Weeks From Anywhere". Guess testing it out will have to wait. Not exactly sure what I'll be doing over the weekend, which leads to the question. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  7. Larry normally posts this. We made it to Friday again Folks! Not sure what I'll be doing, I'm trying to figure out what the Roller Coaster weather is going to allow this weekend here "Two Weeks From Anywhere". What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  8. Friday again folks! Have to keep it short today, experiencing intermittent internet service. It's been off and on since about 11:00 PM last night. What's on Your weekend Agenda?
  9. Friday again folks. Here in the land of "Two Weeks From Anywhere" we'll be assessing damage from yesterday's late afternoon/early evening storms. There were two, possibly three confirmed tornadoes a little south of Madison which is about 90 miles northwest of us. These are the first recorded tornadoes in the month of February in Wisconsin. We got a little rain but some heavy winds that rolled through our area. So, I'll be out checking for damage today. With that, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  10. Friday February 2nd. Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" it's Humboldt Penguin Day! Say what? So, they replaced him with a group of Penguins? Sounds like "Cancel Culture" to me. Who's going to believe a bunch of Penguins? While I try to figure out this situation, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  11. Friday again folks! Here "Two Weeks from Anywhere" we're stuck in a rinse repeat cycle that doesn't seem to want to end. At least we don't have to shovel it. Might try to wade my way out to the chop saw and drill press sometime today. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  12. After a rough week weather wise, it's Friday again folks. Snowing here now again "Two Weeks From Anywhere" so the outdoor shop remains closed. So, in the meantime I've been playing "Couch Potatoe" trying to figure out some new to me computer software/apps. Have to make a grocery store run later today or the cats might rebel. We might make it above freezing Monday, so until then I'll continue being the "Couch Potatoe". What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  13. Friday again Folks! Here in the land of "Two Weeks From Anywhere" we're getting ready for an incoming storm that they have now updated the total snowfall to 7-12" of "Wet Heavy Snow", which will be followed by a few days of single digit temperatures. That just might give me enough time between shoveling to take a look through some books that I got from Bruce last evening. He's putting out boxes of books he found "Curb Shopping" and ran across these bound copies of the Deltagrams that are reprints of the Deltagrams from Volume 1 through 18 starting with January 1932 and ending with Issue No.6, 1948, 49. I'll be going back this morning to see what else he may have found in that box. Just realized I have to call my brother to wish him a Happy Birthday! That's about it for here, What's on Your weekend Agenda?
  14. First Friday of 2024 folks! Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" my brother bought a newer car. He got a 2022 Honda HRV to replace his 2000 Chevy Blazer. His Blazer wouldn't start the other day, and he decided it was time to replace both of their "Money Pits". His Blazer and the SIL's 2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx are now sitting next door. The Malibu has an engine noise, the Blazer Bruce and I got running after replacing the throttle position sensor. The Blazer wasn't throwing any CEL codes, so we took our "supply" of sensors with us when we went back for it after getting the Malibu. After going through Bruce's Astro van, I knew it had to be one of several sensors that can shut down the fuel injector circuits. My brother said he was told the rear end in the Blazer will need replacing because the differential cover rusted out and it now has a slight whine after it was replaced. Bruce wants to put a plow on it to plow next door, so we'll be making a "Boneyard" run sometime this morning to see about a rear end. I also received the replacement front trunnion clamp for that old Delta #860 table saw yesterday that I acquired through a parts swap with another old machinery enthusiast. That's about it here, What's on Your weekend Agenda?
  15. Friday again folks! Have to go and finish a well tank replacement later today for a neighbor about 1/4 mile down the road. Ran and hopefully got everything needed last evening, then proceeded to remove the old tank from its built in place cabinet. Need to take the torch set over today so I can get the cut off pipe out of a tee. Need a bit more heat than the Bernzomatic propane torch can deliver. That's my plan for today, haven't thought about the weekend. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  16. Well what do you know, it's Friday again folks! Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I've been trying to gather my stash of old Delta machine parts into one location so I can determine if I have everything required to put together one of these. I'm down to trying to find two parts for the table saw. I have one of the parts, but it is damaged hopefully not beyond repair after I broke it yesterday trying to straighten it. It snapped just as I got it back straight. I don't think this will work to fix it. Here's a look at the part. NCS-55-S Front Trunnion Clamp with Worm and Shaft. Hard to tell in the photo, but there is also a crack just left of the worm gear. Must be a common problem as I saw several photos on The Vintage Machinery website with the same crack by the gear. It would appear that a previous owner forgot to loosen the Trunnion Clamp before trying to change the table angle. The worm gear tore two or three teeth out of the Sliding Trunnion Bracket which I do have a replacement for. I do believe I can make this part work while I try finding another. We have ways! Refurbing that part is my plan for the weekend, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  17. Friday again folks. Here in the land of "Two Weeks from Anywhere" we've been enjoying a few days of Sunny 50° temperatures. I helped Bruce replace the shock absorbers and sway bar on his 99 Astro earlier in the week. (Required a bit of it can't be tight if it's liquid work ) Other than that, not much happening here. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  18. Not sure what day it is where you're at but it's Friday again here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" folks. Also not sure what Mother Nature has in store for your area this weekend but we're forecast to be in the mid to high 50's again today after setting a new record high yesterday and are forecast to do the same again today and tomorrow. So, while it's cooperating, I'll be trying to get some outside things done. With that, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  19. December already? Not sure what I'll be doing this weekend, it depends on what Mother Nature decides to throw our way. Probably won't get much done, I've been dealing with an upper respiratory infection that has me slowed way down. Did manage to get that pile of firewood moved and stacked, took two days to do what should have taken about four hours. That's about it for here, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  20. Friday again folks! Not sure what I'll get done on this frigid Friday, It's a whole 25° with a feels like temperature of 6°. We might warm up to freezing. Looks like a weekend of trying to stay warm as we're not forecast to hit 40° until midweek. What's on Your weekend Agenda?
  21. Looks like it's Friday again folks. Not much happening here, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
  22. Looks like we made it to another Friday. Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" yesterday marked the day forty years ago that SWMBO started putting up with me. She must have been out of her mind. Not sure what I'll be doing this weekend, What's on Your Weekend agenda?
  23. Friday again folks! Not much happening here, Mother Nature closed the outdoor shop on me. Did help Bruce fire up the boiler next door and had to replace a 3 1/2" piece of 1" black pipe in the steam pressure supply line. Not sure what I'll do for the weekend. What's on Your weekend Agenda?
  24. Friday again folks. Here in the land that is "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I'm waiting to see if the weather is going to improve enough that I can attempt to get several projects done. Not sure if that's going to happen, might have to pack things up for this season. With that, What's on your weekend agenda?
  25. Made it to another Friday folks. Here in the land of "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I'll be heading to just south of "Three Weeks From Anywhere" this weekend to help install an overhead furnace. Haven't been able to get much done here in between all of the we've been getting. 4 days of rain 2 without 3 days of rain rinse repeat do it again. Good news is we're finally out of the drought conditions we've had most of the spring and summer this year. That's about it for here, what's on your weekend agenda?
