Thanks for the welcome! I am actually a shoe maker interested in the cobbler's bench plans! I am just starting out as a shoe maker and am trying to aquire some stuff to get my business going. I would however love to learn a way to make lasts (the form that the shoe is made around) and heels from wood, but I don't even know where to start with them.

Hi Ron, I'm actually a beginner! I just started acquiring tools and am currently working on my first project. I joined this site to get ideas and was particularly interested in the coin displays. I've been lugging my coins around for many years without a way to display them and I'm interested in attempting to build my own.

Thanks to you all. You certainly are a friendly group. Thanks for inviting me in. Out to the workshop now to start to assemble my thickness sander. I'm in north central Ontario and the weather has been keeping me in the house for the most part.  Best regards. J.

thank you for the welcome.....my husband owns a machine shop and we had a guy in here last summer making these amazing jewerly, trinket boxes on the lathe.....if I figure out how to post some pictures I will.....I do smaller works with wood.   Right now I am working on a Bonsai wood stand for my friend.  This is a pretty neat site and inspiring for beginners.

Thank you Ron for your welcome. Yes Switzerland is beautifull but currently it is extremly cold. We have quiet a strong winter which is OK for us (me and Familly) as we are skiing every weekends.

Where have you been in Switzerland ?

Are you speaking of this show...http://kregjig.ning.com/events/indianapolis-woodworking-show? No plans on this end of going any January shows, but that doesn't mean that I can't! Tell me more about the shows agenda.

Best regards, Frank

Ron, thank you so much for the welcome. All the guys out here are so very talented. I write positive content stories for Woodcraft and look forward to sharing whatever I can. I've been talking with John Morris and it looks like things are set for The Patriot Woodworker to once again be an affiliate to Woodcraft. Best regards, Frank
