The Saga Of Lilly And Olivia's Bunk Beds Part 8

Well, the bed is at home in the little neighbor girls' bedroom!

The move and assembly was not without a few glitches, but they were thwarted and we were victorious. The biggest problem came when I realized the floor was carpeted. It sure felt nice on the feet but made the alignment of some of the pieces a real pain.

The Dad helped get everything moved and was invaluable in setting up the pieces.

After the bed was in place, and the little girls slept in it, the bottom bunk occupant fell out in the middle of the night. That prompted making two additional safety rails. And, for reasons I still can't figure out, the bottom stair step did not fit to my liking. A new step is ready to be installed and should be in place tomorrow. The Dad wanted to install the drawer fronts and has the step drawers finished. He will complete the larger drawers this weekend.

So here's the finished product. Cell phone photos, sorry-

Thanks for riding along. If anyone wants the Sketchup files, let me know!

Well done.
Carpet can indeed cause surprises, a bench for example that sits perfectly on a flat floor will rock on carpet.
