We milled this big redgum eucalyptus last week and boy was it a lot of work! Typically we do not mill onsite due to the extensive logistics involved. But I have a short memory and forgot
how much extra work it is to mill on location. First the tree was dropped very close to the stump which made it difficult to set up and operate the mill. It was dropped in one BIG 35' piece in a gully. Every time we tried to cut it, it sank and pinched the bar
I spent about 4 hour getting a 4' section out of the middle of the log. Why you ask did I cut a 4' section out? A client wanted 4 16x16x36 cant for turning large vases. Another client wanted 14'+ long 10/4 slabs that we had to hand load onto a trailer pulled by a lawn tractor.
We have a whole bunch of this Euc. from slabs to turning blocks if anyone is interested.
I have a bunch more pictures once I figure out how/if I can attach more then one

That is beautiful stuff Robert. Robert, do you have a kiln as well?
Look, sometimes you need to do the dirty work to remind yourself how much you hate doing it!
