I've been woodworking on and off as a hobby for around 40 years. I was just starting to get a decent shop set up (500 sq/ft) when I ended up moving to Florida. I am now squeezed into a small area of a garage and have a roll out shop. So, the big projects are taking a back seat due to the space limitations.
I have a varied background and experiences but my primary job for several decades, was a safety professional for a large aerospace company. When the contract ended I left as a staff engineer (assistant manager), retired and moved to Florida.
Besides the woodworking I have a variety of outdoor hobbies; hunting, fishing, firearms/shooting, boating, scuba, camping...
I love to use hand tools when I can and have refurbished dozens of hand planes and saws. I find that I can sometimes solve or fix a problem with a hand tool quicker then pulling out and setting up a corded tool.
