I hope everyone can enjoy a peaceful Easter accordance with your customs.   Our Patriot Turners- @Smallpatch was hitting the yard sale circuit when he spied an old lathe. Not one to pass up a bargain, he took it home a refurbished it.      Check out his post for more images and the back story-     New member @User74 posted a question about carbide tools. Small & simple wooden toys

I'm in a startup group of about 10 people from the woodworking club that are going to get together and make toys for Children's Hospital.  The club donated about 1000 last year.   We're looking for something small, simple to make, generally able to be painted by the patient, and compliant with safety regulations (loose parts,  small parts, strings, etc.)   The vast majority last year were trucks, cars, planes, etc.   So things that would be attractive for girls as well as boys welcomed.   Any id

I have a neighborhood friend whose son, in the army, is getting his first house rental with his wife and newborn.   He wants to get him a starter set of homeowner tools.  But he (the father) is a bit of a klutz and not much handy.  He asked me suggestions for the purchase.  He definitely wanted a cordless drill. Here's what I mentioned.  His wife (Lavinia) is a vet, hence that comment. Comments & suggestions.   Probably in priority order Cordless drill: I like Ridgid (Home

    Education

Education One of the many projects we are working on is a wiki for our online community. A wiki is a great way for woodworkers and enthusiasts to share their knowledge to others, and to impart their knowledge for others to learn from, and utilize as well for their own benefit. We hope you'll consider being a wiki contributor. Research Do you love researching? Do you like to write about subjects in a factual non-biased style? Do you like leaving your footprint of knowledge behind f
